Summary: OVERheated weeks after bringing it home from the store! NO help from Toshiba! hard drive failed less than 3 years after bringing home from store. NO help from Toshiba since day 1 of bringing this $700 piece of junk home! I got money from my father's passing and decided I would buy my very first laptop, as it was something I had always wanted...what a shame!
Pros: speed and nothing else
Cons: Everything! overheats, hard drive fails, NO SUPPORT from Toshiba!
Summary: Stay away from toshiba laptops, these computers are made with the cheapest of everything and you will be lucky if they last longer than 1yr. I knew after I bought it, I should have went with the HP the last one I had lasted 6yrs with no problems.
Pros: there is none with these, or toshiba laptops.
Cons: gets real hot, even with cleaning. flimsy design. Slow very slow., battery toast after less than a year. with a quad processor, it should be fast, but it's not. Now after 2years the screen is flashing, and got a warning from windows disk failure.
Summary: This was my first laptop. I will never buy another Toshiba laptop computer and I don't recommend anyone else do so either. I purchased this laptop from Best Buy and before it was 12 months old (about 5 months actually) the hard drive crashed (in warranty). Sent it back to the factory. Loooong wait. By 13 months it crashed again (out of warranty of course). I don't move it off my desk, use it like a desk top.
Summary: Easily the worst computer I've ever owned. Toshiba decided to pre-load so many programs which slows down the entire unit. I don't even have many programs installed, yet it still locks up on continually. Please don't make the same mistake I did on this one....
Summary: This model has a design problem. 4 times to a a service in the first 6 months; 3 months in total being serviced and the problem persist. toshiba has the worst user support ever. "we don't replace laptops" they say (i called twice), even after four times in service the laptop still freezes. Last time had to change HDD; the new one come with preinstalled windows (that's OK) but half of the drivers were missing (video driver, sound driver, media button drivers, etc).
Pros: Good speakers.
Cons: A design problem causes constant freezing until HDD fails. I have to replace it twice in a year. Toshiba user support is the worst I've used in my life. Also this model has a huge bottleneck, my Acer - AMD fusion e-350 sometimes is faster than this.
Summary: I haven't had any problems others' have been writing about. The laptop has never had a system failure or any software problems. However, I wouldn't recommend purchasing this model unless you don't mind using a different keyboard, but to me that defeats the purpose of a laptop. I've had issues with the R button, then it started to work again on its own and the the N button went. I have to push down on it just to get the key to register.

Summary: I purchased the Toshia A665-S6094 from Best Buy in late Sept 2010. In mid March the laptop had to go back to Toshiba because the whole right side of the keyboard stopped working and the touchpad would stop working correctly after a few hours of use. They replaced the keyboard, but did nothing with the touchpad.
Summary: I have had this laptop since August of 2010. It is great and fast when working. Unfortunately, it freezes and overheats constantly and by constantly I mean six seven eight times a day atleast. When I called Toshiba, all they recommend is reformatting and removing the battery >:( It took me calling multiple instances and having a history logged on file for them to finally approve a work case number and mail me a box to mail it in for repairs.
Summary: This item is no longer being sold new online (at least on Amazon) so I'm writing this review for people who may be able to purchase this in-store. I recommend you do NOT buy it. I bought this laptop from Best Buy in February 2011, just like another reviewer did. Now it's December and this thing is failing. It started shutting off at random times. It wouldn't start up Windows once and when I finally was able to log in, I had to reinstall some programs/updates.
