Toshiba Satellite A665-S5176X

CNET
4 December 2011
  • Summary: While the $799 Toshiba Satellite A665-S5176X is an affordably priced Blu-ray laptop with a next-gen Intel Core i3 processor, there are other options out there that offer better design or performance for the same money.
  • Pros: A Blu-ray drive and excellent speakers make the Toshiba Satellite A665-S5176X worth considering for those looking for a reasonably priced 15-inch multimedia laptop.
  • Cons: Uninspiring design, a middle-of-the-pack battery, and a bulky feel keep it from being a standout.

Toshiba Satellite A665-S5176 Review

LAPTOP Magazine
1 April 2011
  • Summary: For an attractive $799, the Toshiba Satellite A665 delivers great sound, a Blu-ray drive, and fairly long battery life. We just wish it offered better Wi-Fi performance. In this price range, the Samsung SF510 is the more stylish option, but it has a weaker processor and lacks Blu-ray. The Dell XPS 15 has even better audio than the A665 and gives you a more powerful Core i5 processor and Nvidia graphics for the same price, and you can add a Blu-ray for just $100 more.
  • Pros: Excellent speakers, Good battery life for a mainstream laptop, Runs cool, Charges devices and plays audio in sleep mode
  • Cons: Keys a bit slippery, Weak Wi-Fi performance, Graphics not good enough for gamers

Toshiba Satellite A665-S6050 – Good sound quality

etechreviews.net
15 March 2011
  • Excerpt: Sound quality on the Toshiba Satellite A665-S6050 is stellar especially considering the price at which it is offered. There is a pair of Harmon Kardon speakers located above the keyboard and it is covered by rectangular grills. The sound is full and quite loud. It is been a while since I saw a good set of speakers on a laptop. The depth that the speakers offer is really surprising.

Toshiba Satellite A665-S6085: Review

Electronics Made Easy
5 January 2011
  • Summary: If you are not incredibly picky about your laptops, then the Toshiba Satellite A665-S6085 notebook could be a good choice. The latest improvements over Toshiba's previous similar laptop are overwhelmingly positive, but in some areas there is still room to improve. Frequent travelers will want to steer clear of this notebook, as the battery life barely reaches 4.5 hours, which is unusually low for a computer in this price range.
  • Pros: Improved- much better choice over previous similar model, Powerful- new Core i3 processor with 4GB RAM packs punch, Featured- welcomed capabilities of Blu-Ray and Wireless-N, Valued- price is nearly perfect with exception to battery
  • Cons: Short-lived- battery life of only 4.5 hours disappoints

Toshiba Satellite A665 Review

LAPTOP Magazine
29 September 2010
  • Summary: The Toshiba Satellite A665-S6058 is a solid performer for its $899 asking price. Its internal components such as the Core i5 processor, 4GB of RAM, and Nvidia GPU with Optimus make it a strong performer, and its speakers deliver excellent audio. While the keyboard and touchpad buttons don't feel as good as they look, and the battery life isn't that high, the A665 is a multitimedia machine worth owning.
  • Pros: Fast Core i5 processor, Good gaming frame rates for price, Top-of-the-line speakers, Can charge gadgets and play music in sleep mode
  • Cons: Noisy keyboard and touchpad buttons, Relatively short battery life, Overly glossy screen
