Summary: I've had this laptop since 2010. I have used it for countless hours of web surfing and it has worked great and loads fast. I've used big programs like Ableton Live to record and produce music and I've used photo editing software and it has never had problems handling large programs. The only issue I've had with it is the battery is starting to go, but that's also expected after 3 years, I'll just get a new battery and I'll be good to go.
Summary: I don't know if this computer will ever be back in stock, but I'm writing this for anyone who may buy a used one. For me, it's a great laptop. I've had it since April 2010 and it is still going strong. Back then it was going for $1000. For something that existed before the ultrabook world, the laptop size wasn't a negative. As we approach the end of 2013, this laptop is really starting to show its age.
Summary: I've had this laptop since March 2010, and I have regretted ever since. This laptop has a very well-known and well documented overheating problem. If you're lucky, you won't start feeling it until a year and a half. I have read my reports of that issue propping up much earlier though. This thing has a terrible cooling system for a massive heat producing GPU and i7 intel processor. You will get crashes. You will get thermal shut downs.
Summary: Have been using Toshiba products for a while and have had good success. but this Laptop has issues that Toshiba knows about. Had this 2months and Twice the video just suddenly blacked out. Today when I booted it up, it was working fine, then all of a sudden, the Keyboard stopped working. I can not type nothing and am using a USB Keyboard even now. Junk!
Summary: this computer is fast, work well with applications, support old games and some new it has a 4gb enough memory with a 320gb hdd if your into fast performance for apps then this laptop is for you.
Summary: I bought this computer around summer 2010. Since then, I've sent it back for repair around 5 times! 2 Speaker repairs, and 3 Motherboard replacements (hard drive, graphics card, and NIC have all failed and needed replaced several times). Today, after it is out of warranty and after sending it back several times, the computer will only boot half of the time and the Wireless card has failed.
Summary: Really needed a new TV and purchased from Best Buy 40FT2U. The power board failed after two months. It is well known to customer support agents but they dont tell you that on the phone. They give you a ref# and tell you it will be about a week. After a week I called to follow up on part and they referred me to the 3rd party repair company nexcor whom advised me that these Toshiba HDTVs have a defective power board with an extremely high failure rate.
Pros: DIDNT BURN MY HOUSE DOWN
Cons: KNOWN DEFECTIVE MAIN BOARD AND POWER BOARD BACKORDERED FOR MONTHS
Summary: This is my 3rd Toshiba and I am sick of it. When I have a problem with one of Toshiba's product I expect that I will be taken care of because I am a consumer and paid a pretty penny. This laptop is the second with the first having a hardware issue. We took it right back to Best Buy and ended up buying the same model. We have had problems with the mouse pad (currently using USB mouse, Speakers (can only use headphones), and lots of problems with motherboard.
