Best 18.4 inch out there!

marineville3, Ebay
11 April 2014
  • Summary: An Excellent laptop. Beautiful picture quality, good battery life ( for this size laptop) has plenty of ports to remain competitive to all the newer models. Express slot is perfect to add a 3.0 usb adapter and yes it works at 3.0 speeds which give you a total of 6 usb ports. Sound quality very good for a laptop. Some reviewers have knocked the controls on the left side of the keyboard but I have found that this is an advantage since you don't have to reach over the entire...

Still aesthetically cool with enough power for most games.

  • Summary: Got this beautiful system for free from a relative after he let it sit around for over two years. The problems he had were random black screens and overheating. I had some knowledge with troubleshooting so after I fixed this machine, it's now running really well even after hours of gaming. All I did was applied Arctic Silver 5 and disabled Turbo Boost on the i7 720qm processor to keep the system running cool. Now it never goes over 80 degrees Celsius during gaming.

Still Going Strong After 3 Years Of Heavy Use!

  • Summary: I have had this computer for over 3 years now using it heavily at work. I work in the oilfield as an mwd hand, this has been the main work horse for all of the job data for the past 3 years. You could say it has been rode hard and put away wet! I have upgraded the internal hd to a samsung 256 pro and upgraded the ram with Crucial 16GB Kit (8GBx2) DDR3 1333 this has been an excellent computer.

Second generation cpu make this worth while. Awesome product. Love it!

  • Summary: This model of this laptop is a fantastic unit for anyone that needs a fast machine from everyday computing to 85% of the most modern games. This is because that only this particular model and the two above it...x505-q8102x, x505-q8104x and the x500-q930x are second generation Intel cpu compatible. This make it a very close contender to the newer Intel Ivy Bridge and Haswell cpu's. This unit will give any newer model a run for it's money.

Great computer

Matthew A. Baer "Matthew B", Amazon

  • Summary: I have very little to say here. I read some of the low ratings and that compelled me to share my experience. So, I'm a gamer and I have not had any problems with the computer over heating. The power pack does get hot and it is a large computer and that's to be expected. Also, my computer is as fast as my internet speed! At first my computer seemed slow but I upped my internet service and WOW! There isn't any problems with computer.

An amazing desktop replacement, great for both gaming and development.

  • Summary: Overall, this is an excellent laptop- if you use it as a desktop replacement, the huge screen size is wonderful. The keyboard is sharp and strikes a perfect balance between feedback and form factor, the trackpad is responsive and feels nice, and although it may seem small, it never feels as though it should be bigger. The specs are wonderful, and so far multitasking with copious amounts of applications has been a breeze.
