Summary: I was quite pleased with my Toshiba, I've been using it since May 2012 and didn't have too many problems. All the disadvantages such as flimsy screen etc. were negated by the excellent battery life, decent performance, and such nice features as back-lit keyboard and SSD.
Summary: A lot of great things about this laptop. It's light, compact, powerful and dependable. I was warned against the flexible monitor but that has done well. The issue is the flexible keyboard and specifically the space key. I have had to edit this post 17 times so far.
Summary: Purchased this laptop 15 months ago from Best Buy for $800. Worked well for nearly a year when it stopped working. Told BB thought the hard drive no longer worked. BB said they'd never had one with a hard drive issue.
Summary: I purchased this laptop in early 2012, so I've had it for nearly two years. It just started giving me trouble. When I attempt to turn it on after hibernation, it often freezes on the black "Toshiba" screen, or simply begins to turn on and then stops.
Summary: Toshiba almost hit the mark !! I dont mind the old style look and feel of the keyboard. I even don't really mind the flimsy feel (not much of a big deal for me...in fact i didn't notice until i read some of the reviews). I love the weight !!
Summary: This is a very nice, small, light laptop. In fact is is lighter than an IPAD. It can be carried anywhere. But there is a major problem. The material is so flimsy that the body has warped so it won't sit flat on a table top. The review indicated that calling Toshiba was a waste of time.
Summary: It is as thin and as light as many mentioned. I believe fan noise issue have been resolved by Toshiba (BIOS update). Screen is bright. Speed is fine for browsing, Skype, youtube (plays fine 720p resolution). Problems: screen is flimsy.
Summary: I bought this unit from Toshiba Direct, they are courteous and try to help. There was a lot to like about it, but the fan noise is really an unresolved problem. I now see this problem can be seen all over the internet. Toshiba tech support stated they are unaware of the problem.
