Example of failed computer engineering and design

Amelia's Mom, Amazon
8 January 2014
  • Summary: It is a poorly developed machine that tries to marry PC with Tablet. These two don't work well together. Handling of table screen is spotty and screen is not very responsive to touch commands, and the stylus. Forget about using the screen as a tablet. There is more frustration in it than usefulness. My biggest problem with this laptop is that the screen doesn't open wide enough for comfortable reading/typing. Maybe 95 degrees.

Fast but not the best

Amelia's Mom, Amazon
6 October 2013
  • Summary: I;ve had this laptop for 2 months. Here is a quick review: Pros: - Fast machine indeed - Compact - Ability to detach the screen is a nice option Cons: - Laptop/Tablet does not open wide enough. Not good for tall users. Must either bend head forward or detach the screen to type comfortably.

Closest I've seen to the prefect business tablet

jam4775, Amazon
3 September 2013
  • Summary: The Toshiba Portege Z10t (I'm using the Z10t-A111) is, in my opinion, currently the best business tablet out there for the traveling businessman or salesman. This device has the performance and capability to be used like a desktop and yet still has the portability of laptop or tablet. Here are some pros of this device and how I can use it three different ways: As a Desktop - While I'm in my office I use the Toshiba Portégé Z10t series Dock (PA5105U-1PRPA), which includes...

Perfect for laptop replacement

MM, Amazon
20 May 2014
  • Summary: This is my first ever review on Amazon, and because it took me ages to go through all the tech reviews I thought I would write a review just from a consumer point of view. I've had this machine for about 3 months now, and the performance has been perfect. I got it because I wanted to be able to use all my normal Windows apps, like Word, Outlook, Photoshop, Sony Vegas etc. on a machine that was really light enough to carry on holiday.

watch out - software flaw

Cathy, Amazon
27 April 2014
  • Summary: looks like a good machine and I bought mine 6 months ago. The keyboard keeps cutting out and has to be detached and reattached to the tablet to get it to work again about 5 times a day . Toshiba cannot resolve this other than by sending it to Germany for 10 days - was I really going to do that with a machine that has passwords etc on it. Ask my bankers what they'd say to that.

Impressive but flawed

SteveR, Argos
3 September 2013
  • Summary: Toshiba know exactly what is wrong with this. In the manual, it says "the computer body can be opened to a wide range of angles for optimal viewing". It's a lie, it can't. It opens, in fact, to about 15 degrees back from the vertical, half the angle of the netbook it replaced, and my basic Dell Inspiron opens out flat. On a normal desk you are looking down on to the screen at 45 degrees. I almost sent it back. Good features: fast, nice as a tablet, good connections.

  • Summary: Great buy and worth the money. Typically good Toshiba build. Light weight. Really like the touch screen and the ability to remove from the keyboard. Only issue I have is the low battery life.

Mamma ho preso un Toshiba Portege!!!

Fabrypoe, Ciao
13 January 2014
  • Summary: Mamma ho preso un Toshiba!!!
  • Pros: Tutti
  • Cons: Nessuno
