Toshiba unleashes their second netbook generation on customers. Even if there's little been done in view of hardware, Toshiba has really gone the extra mile in regards to optic and design - and we think with success . As the NB 100 looked more fit for purpose than elegant, and due to its protruding battery rather clumsy, there's no trace of this on the NB 200. Quite the contrary. Read more

Elegant, with a large touchpad and very good battery life, the NB200 is a legimate choice either for Pro or home use. Two points mean we weren't able to give it top score: its glossy screen and noisiness (louder than the competition). Read more

    • Large touchpad, 6h10 battery life, Well-spaced keyboard, Nice look and finish, Responsive screen
    • Poor contrast ratio and colours, Noisy at times, Limited for gaming, Glossy screen, Touchpad isn't multitouch

The Toshiba NB200-11H takes everything we thought we knew about netbooks and slaps the same attention to detail we’d expect from a laptop. The result is top-notch performance from a premium design that looks and feels fantastic. We think Toshiba has set a new benchmark to netbook design that seriously raises the games. Read more

    • Toshiba has clearly got a game plan with the NB200 and it’s to deliver the best-looking, best-built netbook out there. What’s more, we reckon they may have just about ...
    • There are just two things wrong with the Toshiba NB200-11H as far as we can see. The first is that the 6-cell battery pack protrudes from the back of the chassis, ruin...

There are plenty of netbooks out there that do pretty similar things, but the Toshiba NB200 is certainly one of the best we’ve seen – at least until the very end of this year. The latest advances in netbook technology are starting to come to the fore, but you will pay a much higher price so if you’re after the best of the lower-end netbooks, it would be wise to keep an eye on the NB200. Toshiba's second attempt at a netbook is a stunning success... almost. The design's superb, the build quality good and the specs decent too. Only the above-par pricing - though you do get a better-than-average software bundle - and the awful colour schemes applied to the higher-end models let the side down. Toshiba: ditch the silver and chrome and you'll have a real winner on your hands. Read more

I looked at one of these netbooks at a Toshiba Outlet and it really did look nice especially with the separated keys, and huge touchpad and I finally bought one this week from the Outlet. I'm pretty pleased with my purchase but there are a few things that I didn't like. Operating System My particular netbook came with Windows XP Home but most of them now come with Windows 7 Starter, because I purchased a reconditioned laptop from Toshiba Outlet it came with XP. • Keyboard's separated keys, great webcam, great looks
    • A little pricey if you buy new, touchpad not great to use if you have dry fingers
