Summary: They wont release the mainboard drivers as a standalone package which means you cannot upgrade to a different OS. And if your hard drive fails or you choose to upgrade you are up crap creek without a paddle. Bottom line, Just dont buy a Toshiba.
Summary: I won't make this a long review, because I agree with the other 5 star reviews on here. The laptop itself is really well designed. It feels incredibly sturdy but is also very light and thin. I walk around the house carrying it on one hand while typing on the other hand, it's that portable. The keys are a bit shallow compared to a "normal" big laptop or an external keyboard, but I got used to it pretty fast.
Summary: We have four Toshiba products and have had trouble with ALL OF THEM! Called customer service on several occasions and they were outright rude! They just want to get you off the phone. We will never buy another Toshiba product.
Summary: Just bam. You will not regret it. It is worth every penny. If you want an ultralight, this is it. Perfection. HERE'S AN UPDATE: A few weeks after buying this great machine, I managed to damage the case. The computer was fine, but it was like having a first door ding in a new car. It bothered me enough to call Toshiba to see what it would cost to replace the case. When the rep said they would take care of it at no charge, I emphasized that the damage was my fault.
Summary: It has footprint of 12.5. simple design. Lid has premium look and finish. the base and key board deck doesn't have the premium feel. base looks and flexes like plastic. palm rest sharp edges and not pleasing joint like a tray takes away the solid feel premium look, the magnesium alloy looks like plastic on some surfaces. performance ok. Screen is a mixed bag. Apparently LG made screen the colors are too saturated and unnatural. all color profiles looks cartoonish.
