Summary: I've had this for about three years. It constantly crashes when trying to use Facebook or look for anything on the internet. I've never been so disgusted with any piece of electrical equipment. I'm sure things have gotten better over the years (since they're still in business) but this thing is basically a piece of crap. Since they're older and newer and faster are out there, I would suggest avoiding older Toshiba tablets.
Summary: An external microphone won't work on the external mic jack unless you insert the plug while the tablet is powered down. Then you power up the tablet, then record your video. Then you power down, remove the mic, and power up and watch your video. It causes a momentary short when you insert the plug when the unit is powered up, which shuts down the recorder. Other than that, I like it. SD slot and USB and removeable battery are good.
Summary: Difficult to keep my son off his tablet (and my husband) only trouble we had was that the charger broke and we had to replace it ourselves as neither the seller or Toshiba was interested in helping.
Summary: What IS the negative fuss raised about this tablet by the reviewing "experts"? I have had my Tosh Thrive (as it's more commonly known) for several months now and have no problem with the display quality or its build quality - and I'm CERTAINLY not bothered that it weighs a little bit more than an iPad or any other sort of tablet!
Summary: Had done the usual 2 months of weighing up between i-pad and android and then which one to buy. I had nailed it down to this and one Asus tablet and when I priced the accessories needed as well, the Toshiba came out tops. It beats the i-Pad by having the add ons such as usb, hdmi and SD card which enable you to get round any storage issues.
Summary: My grandaughters andriond has more built in apps than this. I can not even connect to the internet and no free support from Toshiba. But it does look good and the picture is clear. Shame I can't get it to do anything.
Summary: I bought the Toshiba Tablet for my wife as a christmas present given it had been dramatically reduced in price. Reviews elsewhere suggested one problem was its weight as compared to the Samsung or Apple tablet but this was never going to be a problem as the tablet would never leave the house. Other so called egatives related to things which the majority of us will never probably need. Thankfully, my wife loves it and I probably use it just as much.
