Excerpt: This laptop is a great investment! Fairly Cheap and very functional, it might be one of the best budget laptops on the market. This 16.4 inch laptop is actually very portable, it will fit into most bags with ease. The laptop itseld weights about 6.4 pounds which is fairly light, nothing too heavy. The laptop has a nice simple and sleek design without anything too flashy. It came with 4gb of RAM, which is definatly enough for most people these days.
Summary: I had this laptop for just over a year. Didn't buy extended warranty. I used it approximately less than 3 months total. When the year was over, the video graphics card and the LCD screen both died. Sony support calculated minimum $600 to fix/replace parts with new + to/from shipping cost. I would not buy a Sony laptop again nor recommend them.
Summary: I bought this computer about a year ago and it's a fantastic desktop replacement. I use it for translation work and it's powerful i7 processor is enough to handle pretty much anything I throw at it. I did upgrade the RAM to 8G to make it easier to multitask, but 4G should be more than enough for most users.
Summary: PROS Fast i7 @ 2 GHz (max 2.9 w/ TurboBoost). Extremely responsive in any task. Relatively light at less than 7 lbs. for a desktop replacement. Excellent 16.4" matte screen. Comfy chiclet-style, backlit keyboard. Quiet fan and drive. Electromagnetic multimedia buttons. Quick boot (30 sec.) with regular internal drive. Two USB 3.0 ports, 1 HDMI, 1 sVGA. True full HD (1080p).
Summary: The laptop has awesome hardware characteristics, the screen is really good and has a high resolution. However, the overall design of the laptop is ugly. The keyboard is backlit, but the slits between the keys and the base are too big, so the white LEDs are shining right in your eyes. The plastic gets all stained with fingerprints from a single touch.
Summary: This laptop is fast, plays full hd videos, blu ray, has an amazing keyboard layout, has a great screen, the sound is loud, and it plays most games on med-high settings. Compared to other similar gaming machines, this one is a better deal! You get it all. The only downsides are the battery and weight. It dies pretty fast, usually lasts me a good 2-4 hours with heavy browsing and viewing videos. Of course it lasts longer just doing basic things.
Summary: I bought this laptop for myself a couple months ago to replace my previous Sony Vaio Laptop that I had for 4-5 years. The computer is an excellent purchase and would recommend it to anyone. I have a Sony TV as well and it syncs up seamlessly so if I have a video on my laptop and want to play it on the tv just need to click "Play to Sony" and there it is. The display is big, provides great color and brightness. The video card is excellent.
Summary: this laptop has great internal hardware which makes me feel im using my home disk top, love the 3D and the screen is just wow, the only downside is the battery, dies fast, i use this with power adapter so no problems for me, plays most games on mid quality, and its fast, going to upgrade its RAM and HDD to SSD in the future, right now its awesome, it has a glossy finish so need to have it cleaned from time to time if you want to maintain the shining look on it.
