Summary: This laptop is so terrible that it forced me to write my first product review. I purchased this exactly two years ago and it is now completely dead. Both myself and a professional have concluded that the motherboard is beyond repair and I need to buy a new laptop. The laptop was shiny and new when I first bought it (though a bit too heavy for its category). I used it in graduate school for word processing and movie watching; nothing too strenuous.
Summary: I just purchased this computer, so the following review is given with the caveat that I may need to update it with any problems that may occur. BUT - so far it is amazing! I have no idea why people are complaining. Maybe they bought refurbished versions or don't understand that ANY computer can have problems. For example my Mom has a macbook pro and has had a bunch of problems with the system not working/freezing. Sometimes that can happen with any computer.
Summary: After using this laptop regularly for 5 months I figured I should leave a review. I mainly use Google Chrome and MS Paint and some other applications needed for my job (car dealership software i.e. web based CRM, web based DMS, F&I, Desking tools). I'm really happy with the feel of the keyboard. I attach my own small mouse to it as I'm not a big fan of track pads in general.
Plus- Nice display, DVD; Minus- twitchy mousepad and wi-fi, Windows 8/8.1

Summary: For my next laptop (I am a business user) I wanted a larger high-quality display for showing demos to clients and a DVD drive, but was looking for less weight, and a backlit keyboard- and this unit has all those things. For me the i5 was more than enough power. The display is crisp, although it has a narrow vertical viewing angle- it washes out pretty quickly if too high or low, while horizontal doesn't seem to suffer as much.
Summary: I pretty much never write reviews. But while I have to navigate away from my Sony Vaio touchscreen for the 4th time now in this session to my mac book air I thought why not. The laptop is beautiful ,but continuously disconnects from the WiFI. I found this buried in a lot of reviews and youtube videos after I bought it. Go check it out for yourself. Google how to fix the wifi problem.
Nothing compares to Sony product when it comes to vivid color and HD image and slick design

Summary: I have always loved the design and quality of Vaio. Was a little skeptical about the Windows 8 Operating system since I heard a lot of people complain about it. I was however, pleasantly surprised how easy it was for me to make the transition. I think it was because I have been using Iphone and IPad for a while so intuitively I was familiar with the touch screen and aps part of Windows8. Love my Vaio Ultrabook so far.
