Great Ultrabook

Chris R., Newegg
30 October 2013
  • Pros: Some people I had read complained about the wifi and a few other issues that seemed to be addressed by running some firmware/driver updates. Boot times are insanely fast, if you ever turn it off which is kind of rare for me. My work takes me in and out of clients offices and I just love the portability and speed with which I can get back to what I was doing. It was between this and the mac book air when I bought it but from what I gather using windows on boot camp is ...
  • Cons: Main con for me is the touch pad, it is too large and too sensitive while typing. Had to get a mouse and I just keep it disabled. I'd like an Ethernet port but its pretty typical on the ultrabooks not to have one.

Light and wicked quick

Christopher G., Newegg
9 July 2013
  • Pros: Very light and durable. Touch screen is an awesome feature as well as the keyboard feedback. Touchpad is okay. Speakers are amazing, truly.
  • Cons: Battery is decent, but should be on par with macbook air 13. Touchpad could be better as far as multi-touch goes.

Nice Kit

John A., Newegg
3 July 2013
  • Pros: Extremely thin and light laptop. This model has 8GB of RAM and a larger SSD so you don't run into major bottlenecks when running virtual machines. The screen looks great, and it's way too thin to be touch. The carbon makes it surprisingly light to pick up, and although it does have some give (in comparison to metal latops), it's not something I mind.
  • Cons: Not the most comfortable machine to use on your lap. The bottom ridge of the screen has two 'feet' which prop up the main body of the machine when it's being used on a flat surface. But if you're using the machine on your lap, these feet can start to feel like needles digging into your legs. I'm able to keep my knees together to avoid getting stuck too often, but it does make prolonged use on your lap less enjoyable. Trackpad is a little jumpy, but that may just be a ...

fantastic

  • Summary: I saw a lot of reviews here complaining about the WiFi problems of the computer. I'm here to let potential buyers know that this is no longer an issue. Sony issued driver updates that fixed this problem inside out. Even when I got my computer it had problems connecting to the internet, but after the updates it is fantastic. Enjoy the battery life, portability and touch screen to its fullest ability. Very nice school computer.

User Review

John, Woolworths

  • Summary: Well, after owning this, I have to say you'll never look at an Apple Airbook in the same way again, not only is this lighter, thinner and made of the more durable carbon fibre, it's also more powerful and has a much better quality screen. It boots in no time at all, the battery life is superb and the look and feel of it is nothing less than amazing, Sony really put a lot of thought and effort into this series and the craftsmanship really shines through, There are a few...

An AWESOME laptop... Incredible.

Brian L, FutureShop
23 January 2014
  • Summary: OK. So there's a bit of updating drivers and such that needs to happen when this laptop is fresh out of the box. While that may be intimidating for some, it goes with the territory for these types of devices. After a bit of time to sort out drivers, etc. I am so impressed with this laptop. Light, quick, solid, quiet... Some of the folks reviewing this laptop are not being fair - WiFi is perfect, the build is solid, the keyboard is fantastic.
