Summary: Positives: - Light-weight carbon fibre construction, nice screen - Sony puts together a nice set of software - Keyboard easy to use, trackpad works well Negatives - Wifi absolutely terrible - with latest drivers - Every computer and device in our family (mac laptops, iPhones, iPads etc.) all can consistently connect. My Vaio often can't find the network, is incredibly slow or has some other fussy issue.
Summary: After doing all the Windows updates and the VAIO updates (drivers, etc) the first issue was that the screen brightness adjustments locked up in a very dim mode. Tried all sorts of things but no joy. Online opinion was that this was a driver problem. Sure enough, restoring it to factory and trying again and the screen seems to be operating properly. Of course, I'm not doing all the driver upgrades again. Many hours later, and I'm observing the wifi drop in and out.
Summary: It would be an excellent computer if the wifi worked consistently. Google Sony Vaio Pro 13 and wifi. There are over 100 posts on the Sony Vaio support forums about this issue. Sony released a driver update which helps a bit, but it still isn't resolved. Otherwise its an excellent computer. But the wifi issue makes it unusable. You can get a usb wifi adapter to solve the issue, but for this price the computer should be perfect. Will be returning this next week.
