Sony VAIO Pro 13 Touch Review

Tech2
9 September 2013
  • Summary: The Sony Vaio Pro 13 is available at an MRP of Rs. 74,990 which may feel steep for a Core i5 system, but we feel it’s a decent price point considering what is on offer: fast performance, great battery life, light weight, responsive keyboard and touchscreen. Sure we would have loved a larger capacity SSD and a less noisy fan when all cores kick in, but the advantages easily overpower these minor niggles.

Sony VAIO Pro 13

PC Magazine
8 September 2013
  • Conclusion: The Sony VAIO Pro 13 shows that you can make laptops lighter and thinner when you use a fourth-generation Intel Core processor. It's very good, though Sony really needs a grand slam to distance itself from similar rivals.
  • Pros: Very light and thin. Speedy performance from SSD. Bright and clear Full HD resolution IPS 10-point touch screen. Full size HDMI. NFC support.
  • Cons: Could use more SSD storage. Some keyboard flex. Insistent fan. Back edge of lid can dig into your legs. Very good, but not great, battery life.

Review Sony Vaio Pro 13 SVP-1321C5ER Ultrabook

Notebookcheck
4 August 2013
  • Summary: Red Baron. After the Pro 11 we have a closer look at the 13-inch Red Edition. How much polish can an elitist business notebook handle? How much performance can the just 10 mm thin base unit keep cool? Our review gives the answers.
  • Pros: Bright Full HD IPS display with high contrast, Color accuracy, Backlit keyboard, Very low weight, Battery runtimes, Normal sized HDMI port, Fast SSD, Accessories and TPM, Battery slice port, The bright IPS display with its high color accuracy. The good runtimes and the energy-saving features of the new i7 processor. The slice battery is a useful accessory.
  • Cons: Average stability of the base unit, Wobbly display hinges, Greasy glossy finish, Flexible keyboard, Low quality webcam, Reduced CPU/GPU performance, A docking port to improve the handling on the desk and perhaps with additional cooling. Uncomfortable touch operation due to the bouncing display.

Sony Vaio Pro 13 review

Digitaltrends
25 July 2013
  • Conclusion: The Sony Vaio Pro 13 is emblematic of Sony’s new approach to product design. By using technologies from multiple divisions, and focusing on technical excellence, the company has crafted an Ultrabook that’s extremely thin and light, yet also offers excellent display quality and strong battery life. This is paid for by performance, but the figures we received are still adequate; we’d like to see more, but the Pro 13 never felt slow during tests.
  • Pros: Thinnest, lightest 13-inch Ultrabook available, Good keyboard, Beautiful 1080p display, Great battery life
  • Cons: Feels less expensive than it is, Limited connectivity, Frustrating touchpad, So-so processor performance

Sony VAIO Pro 13

MobileTechReview.com
12 June 2013
  • Conclusion: Granted the Sony Vaio Pro 13 is the first Windows Haswell Ultrabook to hit the market and its only Haswell ultraportable competition is the mid-2013 MacBook Air. I have a feeling that even under competition, the Vaio Pro will hold up well. We know about several other Windows 8 touch screen Haswell Ultrabooks already since Acer, Dell and Lenovo have announced some models that are basically the same as their outgoing Ivy Bridge counterparts except the updated CPU/GPU.
  • Pros: Incredibly light at 2.3 lbs. quality build and stunning design, latest Intel Haswell CPUs, excellent full HD IPS display.
  • Cons: Inherent flex in carbon fiber and aluminum design is disconcerting to some.

Sony Vaio Pro 13 review – great Haswell business ultrabook

UltrabookReview
10 June 2013
  • Summary: The Sony Vaio Pro 13 is an awesome ultrabook, with an angular design and a 2.4 lbs light body. Powered by an Intel Haswell platform, sporting a touchscreen and a very good keyboard, the Pro 13 is definitely something to look at these days. If only it were a bit sturdier...
  • Pros: looks awesome and unique, weigh only 2.4 pounds, sports a very good touchcreen and a comfortable keyboard; snappy everyday performances; long battery life; loud and clear sound system
  • Cons: too flexible, pointy corners, annoying glass on top of the screen, not the best trackpad, can get noisy when pushed, wi-fi problems
