Summary: I am computer technology challenged. It took a couple of weeks to get the hang of Windows 8 (to my surprise I am quite enjoying the features & functionality). The laptop itself is amazing. I got it with the extended battery sheet, which adds only minimal bulk/weight - I'm a puny 115 lb weakling & it doesn't bother me, & more importantly easily fits in my handbag. The battery life is incredible. The laptop performs like magic.
Summary: Owned for six months (i7 4500, 256GB SSD, 11 in). I connect it to a docking station at home (using it as a desktop substitute) and take it with me when I travel. Even with the extra battery, this machine is lighter than virtually all other i7 ultrabooks. If you want portability with power, this is your computer. Boot time is 5-10 seconds. Keyboard is smaller than standard but very comfortable and responsive. I experienced the wi-fi issue out of the box and called Sony.
Summary: This laptop has it all. Core i7, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD. And it weighs less than 2 Lbs. I had watched video reviews online where users complained about the flex in the keyboard. I don't have any issues with my keyboard flexing at all. It takes a lot of pressure to make mine flex. The screen resolution, brightness and crisp detail is wonderful.
Summary: We spent $1500 on this unworkable machine. The problems are: Wireless didn't work. The Sound card didn't work, We tried to call the support. They support line keep on give us the same message. We tried to get support online. After update the drivers. It still very slow. Look like SONY store already know the problem. Why they don't fix the problem before sell to us? We will return this Xmas gift to SONY store tomorrow. We spent more then 5 hours on these issues already.
Summary: With Touchscreen, Windows 8, USB 3.0 and HDMI output, we have a device which was created for those who want to be at the forefront of technology.
Pros: Elegant looking (ideal for business), Small size fits on the airplane seat table, Excellent mix between laptop and tablet, Awesome battery life and shining colors, 4GB Ram & i5 Processor is wide enough for most common tasks
Cons: * Only 128GB disk on SSD (MacBook Air is actually 512GB)., * It ships with the failed driver 16.0 for WiFi Intel N7260, needs to upgrade as soon as its out of the box to 16.1.x or higher with VAIO Uptade.(Easy)., * Lacks of VGA output, only HDMI.
Summary: Very fast. Deceptively light weight. Screen is beautiful and sensitive to the touch. Good battery life. Backlit keyboard is usable. Trackpad is miserable. Cursor jumps all over no matter how heavy/light the touch, and lots of false clicks. I've installed all Windows Update patches and VAIO Care updates, with no trackpad improvement. Good thing this has a touch screen because the trackpad is really worthless.
Summary: This is a great laptop, with one little catch: the WiFi doesn't work! I find it hard to believe that Sony is shipping a product with a known design flaw, but this appears to be the case. TONS of people are returning the laptops.
Pros: Lightweight, touchscreen, long battery life.
