Review Sony Vaio Pro 11 SVP121M2EB.G4 Ultrabook

Notebookcheck
30 July 2013
  • Summary: Delicate Butterfly. The new Sony Pro series shines due to its impressive technical specifications. Our test model is slim and offers decent battery life and nice performance. It could very well be the ideal companion on-the-go. In our review, we will see what this model has to offer.
  • Pros: Bright Full HD IPS display with strong contrast, Good color coverage, Keyboard backlight, Very good workmanship, Good battery life, Normal-sized HDMI port, Light weight, The light, slim case has great looks.
  • Cons: Reduced brightness on battery, Brightness fluctuations on battery, Base is not very sturdy, Small keys and the keyboard has poor sturdiness, Distracting fan behavior, A sturdy keyboard base and bigger keys. The fan behavior may be a problem limited to our test model, but if that is not the case, it needs to be dealt with.

Sony VAIO Pro 11 (SVP11215PXB)

PC Magazine
11 June 2013
  • Conclusion: The Sony VAIO Pro 11 (SVP11215PXB) is a sharp looking ultrabook powered by a fourth-generation Intel Core i7 CPU. It offers a beautiful hi-res touch-screen display and is extremely thin and light, but its graphics performance is middling and its battery life comes up short.
  • Pros: Intel Core i7 power.Ten-point touch screen. Full HD IPS display. Backlit keyboard. Supports NFC (Near Field Communication) technology. Full size HDMI port.
  • Cons: Limited port selection. So-so battery life. Integrated graphics.

Expert Review

ComputerShopper
4 June 2013
  • Conclusion: Its keyboard takes a little (in our case, a very little) getting used to and its battery life is merely okay, but its display is crisp and colorful and its construction exemplifies quality. We suspect the more affordable Core i5 and 128GB SSD model would be sufficient for most ultrabook buyers, but if you (a.) travel and (b.) use Windows 8, either model is a first-class value.
  • Pros: Vanishingly light and thin, Handsome 1080p touch screen, Perky performance
  • Cons: Slightly squashed keyboard, Battery life doesn't dazzle

Sony VAIO Pro 11 Ultrabook

LAPTOP Magazine
4 June 2013
  • Summary: The Sony VAIO Pro 11 largely delivers on Intel's Haswell promises inside an amazingly light design. While the performance gains are modest on this Ultrabook, we appreciate the above-average battery life. Plus, you can get more than 14 hours of juice if you spend more for the sheet battery. What prevents the Pro 11 from earning a higher rating is its flexy keyboard and the annoyingly sharp front corners.
  • Pros: Lightest 11-inch Ultrabook yet, Bright and colorful full HD touch screen, Solid performance, Good battery life and optional sheet battery
  • Cons: Small keys and keyboard flex, Sharp front edges, Lackluster webcam

Sony Vaio Pro 11 is a lighter-than-Air ultrabook

CNET
6 May 2013
  • Summary: The superthin, superlight Sony Vaio Pro 11 is everything we expect from an excellent ultrabook.
  • Cons: The Pro 11, like its competition, has a nonremovable battery (though you can add an external battery), few ports and connections, and integrated graphics only. System memory is maxed out at 4GB.
