Multimedia center - The best of both worlds

rencaballero, CNET
21 August 2014
  • Summary: The best laptop available now. When I use it on meetings, always hear some wows. The tablet (touchscreen and flip) capacities are nice, specially if you like to see movies there. The playback is very smooth.
  • Pros: Sharp 2880x1620 screen, the touchscreen and flip feels right
  • Cons: No optical drive.

The best high end professional digitizer Tablet+Laptop thus far

BL00Beard, CNET
7 August 2014
  • Summary: After years of waiting for a true Engineering desktop replacement laptop that supported a digitizer, the Sony Flip 15 comes along.  And then it's gone!  I had to purchase my refurbished unit from a liquidator, though I am hard pressed to find any defects - except for the strange model number SVF15NB1GL that has been stickered to SVF15N18PXB and the generic box packaging.
  • Pros: Sharp 2880x1620 screen, 16GB RAM and easy user upgradability
  • Cons: No longer available

This is a great 2 in 1 system

Doughboy7777, CNET
4 April 2014
  • Summary: This is a great laptop that can be used like a tablet.  I use this as a work system and it is great.  During meetings I use the Note Anytime with the active pen...so you are not just tied to what you can type...you can also draw illustrations your notes.  I have the 1920X1080 with Nvidia GT735M 2GB...it has supported every game I have tried to date including one MMO.  The only drawback on 3D games is the fan goes to max spin.  This is the only time I hear the fan run.
  • Pros: Screen Size, Sturdy design, In pad mode keys are not resting on my lap, good battery with no 3D applications active
  • Cons: fan during 3D applications

A great product unfairly getting a mixed rap.

  • Summary: OK, disclaimer: I have the 14" screen. Not 15". The complaints about this machine have concerned screen sensitivity (erratic; noisy fan; lack of FN key control over brightness; poor wifi reception. Most who have these problems, as it turns out, never downloaded the updates that address these issues. I had to update several for win 8. Then upgrade to Win 8.1, with a few more updates. I found that once this was done all but the FN key issue was solved.
  • Pros: Build quality; looks; great design; fast; battery life; great screen and screen positioning.
  • Cons: No optical drive.
