Summary: First of all, I have no biases or product affiliations whatsoever. I bought this laptop because i had a Vaio before, and it worked perfectly for 4 years strong until the hard drive collapsed. It was easy for me to go back to Sony because of this experience, but it was completely different this time around.
Summary: Love it - has everything, super fast startup - still has a dvd drive yet thin. The keyboard with the 10-Key stays lit so you can see and the keys are smooth. the screen is large and the touch screen is easy to use and accurate. The battery lasts up to 2 to 3 hours. I am very happy I purchased this laptop.
Summary: As always, I did a lot of research before making this purchase. I didn't think it possible a few months ago, but I recently found myself wanting a convertible with a larger screen than my Asus Transformer TX300 has. There are some newer enties into the 15" convertible arena all with about the same specs, but the Sony seemed to have the best design.
Summary: I did a lot of online looking for touch screen laptops. Apparently, in general, they are still in the development stage. I chose this one because Sony has quality products. At the time there were no reviews for it on Amazon. When I bought it, it was the last one in stock. There were some reviews for it on the Sony store and a couple of people mentioned a problem with the Wi-Fi disconnecting. After I had it for a few days, that became a problem.
Summary: Purchased one of these for my wife for Christmas. The laptop comes loaded with "software bloat" which took a day or two to remove. The display has an irritating habit of brightening and darkening at the merest whim, sometimes simply by inserting a USB cable into the USB port, the screen suddenly brightens and then darkens a few minutes later. WiFi reception on the laptop is intermittent even within 15 feet of our router.
Summary: Delivered on time and worked flawlessly out of the box. This is my third Sony VAiO over the years and have used Compags, HP, Toshiba, Dell, Asus laptops but keep coming back to the slightly more expensive VAIO just because they are worth the extra $$$.
