Sony VAIO E Series 11 (SVE11113FXB) Review

LAPTOP Magazine
13 July 2012
  • Summary: Those who like the idea of owning a laptop that's as portable as a netbook but offers more graphics power will find the VAIO E Series 11 to be an attractive choice. Of course, a sub-$500 15-inch notebook is the way to go if performance is a priority.

  • Pros: Unique textured chassis, Protective overlay for keyboard, Bright screen, Dedicated number pad, Handy software extras
  • Cons: Poor speakers, Subpar Webcam, Short battery life, No dedicated media-playback keys, Small touch pad, Disappointing DirectX 10 gaming

A well-built, but basic Sony 17in notebook

Good Gear Guide.au

  • Summary: Sony's VAIO E Series notebooks are intended for general purpose use, and the VPCEJ15FG fulfils that requirement happily. If you're trying to complete too many tasks at once the E Series does tend to pause for a few seconds, but we only encountered this a few times in our testing.
  • Pros: Reasonable price-tag, Good build quality and design
  • Cons: Keyboard should be larger, A Full HD screen would have been nice, Slightly bland styling may turn off some
