Summary: I purchsed this last year and the exterior is flimsy and crumbling at the hinge. Sony has only one option for fixing this. I do not want to send this is in. I want to purchase the exterior only but they will not allow me to purchase it alone.
Summary: Since I got this computer I always had had problems with it because the display froze and had to restart the pc in order to use it. After endless calls to sony they were not able to help and even they ended my chat sessions more than once in the middle of the conversation. Plus I never got to use the bluetooth because it just did not worked. I reinstalled all registries, software, tried using an external bluetooth and nothing. Since new, I have never used bluetooth.
Summary: i purchased my vaio based on what i thought would be quality laptop. well wasn't i surprized. the display back light failed after 13 mo. i didn't purchase the extended warranty because they are, or should be, a come on. the price to repair was over $400. how rediculous. i have owned many pc's/laptops over the years and have never had one fail within 3 yrs. i am so disappointed in sony. i will never buy anything sony - EVER.
Summary: purchased the laptop on Jan1/2011 .. started using it a month later to find it very slow and sluggish .. figured updates may help , downloaded all updates and it got slower .. thought removing the trial software might help so went to remove that and it crashed early to mid march .. complained to harney norman who said sorry 14 day warranty .. complained to sony who eventually said we can't do anything as we don't know what's wrong with it ..
Pros: looks good
Cons: extremely poor excuse for a laptop / 14 day warranty / waste of my time
