Update Review Sony Vaio SVT1311M1ES Notebook

Notebookcheck
8 July 2012
  • Summary: Fast-booting system hits series production. The pre-production model of Sony's Ultrabook left a good impression overall but it wasn’t without faults. Sony's production model has been improved in many ways - but some things are still amiss.
  • Pros: fast system boot-up, high build quality, exquisite finish, well equipped, removable battery, very long battery run time, Fit and finish are very impressive. Fortunately Sony didn't make changes here.
  • Cons: mediocre display, annoying fan, slower hard drive than pre-production unit, A better display panel would significantly improve this model. Right now it's rather unimpressive. We would appreciate a less noisy fan.

Review Sony Vaio SVT1311M1ES Ultrabook

Notebookcheck
24 May 2012
  • Summary: Hybrid book. Sony sends an ultrabook into the ring called SVT1311M1ES. An aluminum case and Intel Core i3 processor are to lure customers. A special highlight is the hybrid hard disk. It fuses the size of a conventional HDD with the speed of an SSD. Will Sony's Vaio ultrabook also be convincing in our tests?
  • Pros: Boots extremely fast, Good battery life, Very good workmanship, High-end materials, USB 3.0, VGA and HDMI, Fair price, Removable battery, The design and workmanship. Sony's Vaio SVT1311M1ES is a real good-looker.
  • Cons: Display lacks stability of contenders, Mediocre screen rates (brightness, contrast), Keyboard needs familiarization, Touchpad is sometimes sluggish (pre-series model), The touchpad was not quite satisfactory in out (pre-series) test device. We hope that that is due to its pre-series status.
