Summary: I'm 14 years old, I worked to earn up some money and finally had enough to buy a laptop. When I started searching for one I considered many for example the alienwware m14x and a macbook pro also a asus, I'm pretty sure any of them would be better. After a month of buying this laptop white spots started to appear in the screen and the mouse pad work inconsistently. since I got the Accidental warranty I send it to sony and they fixed the screen nothing else.
Summary: I bought this vaio brand last year and after 4 mths, I got the fan noise problem. It is really heavy noise that it irritates me alot. I am a computer science student who chose Vaio over Mac and I have alot of Sony products with me. But this one is a disaster. I even took the laptop to a Sony tech to have the fan changed, but it did not solve the noise and overheating problem. very disappointing.
Summary: I bought an SVS1512DCXB in December 2012. It appears to be discontinued, but the hardware is the same across the S range There is no way to turn down the keyboardd or touchpad sensitivity to a level where any normal adult can use it. You get double keystrokes constantly, and the toucchpad throws the cursor to randdom places with the slightest provocation. Yes, i am leaving the foregoing typos in place so you see my private hell.
Summary: 1. The unit does not display reds properly. This is known as "orange gate" in the VAIO community. While the IPS display is far superior to any TN laptop display in theory, this is ruined by the inability to properly display reds, at least on the VAIO I purchased. 2. Small dents at base of lid. It looks like the assembler became impatient. 3. The S15 is advertised as a high end laptop, but to me, it didn't feel like it. My dingy Dell N4010 feels more solid (and plastic).
Summary: Its a really nice high end machine but, it's kinda slow (not as fast as i thought it would be for that price)+a hard disk errors and you are forced to restart the computer without saving your work+ the screen brightness keeps changing by it self even I set it in one place+ battery doesn't stay more than 2 hours + keyboard light is always ON, you cant really see the letters in the light.
Nothing but trouble, and wouldn't even boot up after ONE MONTH!!

Summary: Updating my review: Just two DAYS after the return deadline, this machine crashed completely thanks to the computer running a mandatory software update. Once that happened, it would not start back up. I got permanently stuck at the welcome screen, and no keys would function to let me enter my password.
