Review Sony Vaio SV-E1712F1EW Notebook

Notebookcheck
16 November 2012
  • Summary: Dull? A lot of multimedia notebook for a small price - that is what the Sony Vaio SV-E1712F1EW wants to be and abstains from expensive high-end hardware and luxury materials. We clarify whether the 17-inch notebook is a true price cutter or just hides a lot of painful economies.
  • Pros: Good input devices, Acceptable case quality, Good balance between CPU and GPU performance, Fair price, Unlike many inexpensive rivals, the Vaio score points with relatively higher quality workmanship and good input devices.
  • Cons: High noise in idle state, Weak speakers, Display with tight viewing angles, Short battery life, We were less convinced with the poor viewing angles of the display and the disappointing speakers. If Sony were to improve these points, the multimedia qualities would be even better.
