Summary: Love the features of the laptop. Love the back-lit keyboard, screen is nice and bright. Would give it 5 stars, but its trackpad is annoying. The whole pad is a button and touch sensitive. Also wish Samsung would upgrade their drivers so that I can install Windows 8 on it and use all of the hardware's features on windows 8.
Summary: A competent W8 touch screen laptop plus good quality keyboard. A slightly bizarre feature being a virtual keyboard - in case you haven't spotted the very nice keyboard in front of you. Touchscreen functions very well and is faster to use than the cursor and pad, and if you move the cursor too quickly, it tends to swipe and open the W8 charms panel. The display is bright and clear, as long as you don't have sticky fingers! All in all a good buy.
Summary: I love this laptop. It is my primary working device now and it really shines. However. The auto brightness is a pain to turn off, as is the keyboard backlighting. The dedicated graphics may also refuse to work at full capacity without power (a serious session fixing the power plans will sort this though).
A great laptop ordering another one for my teenager
1 July 2013
Summary: I purchased this on 15th June not from Amazon I should mention. I feel it fair to point out that I don't think I have ever brought a pc or laptop that did not have teething problems and the review on here is a very fair assessment the biggest headache is the amount of updates but once you get past this and set up with what you want it is a beautiful piece of kit and for the price paid I feel good hardware especially as its brand and so often I find you get bottom range...
Summary: Now I have got this laptop setup it is a fast and powerful machine which is a pleasure to have and use. But, getting to this point has been a long and painful journey, and I've been working with Computers since the days of punch cards in the late 1970's! This laptop has a very good specification, however, it would appear that Samsung has somewhat rushed it out and been a bit careless with the software build - it may be just my laptop, but unlikely according to a number...
Summary: At first is exiting to open up this system out of the box, great built quality, nothing fancy. Pros: Everything is equipped well, you also get a large, stable 256 Samsung ssd, which are the most reliable in the market. Also I like that they added 2 memory in this system so that it performs optimal, at maximum speed.
Summary: I have been running a HP Pavillion HDX9430EA for the past 4 0r 5 years, its a behemoth of a laptop 21" widescreen with a full media centre remote and weighing about 7kg. But its showing its age and even with 4Gb of RAM and Hard Drive upgrades to 1.5Tb it was time to upgrade. I like a big screen as I do a lot of photo and video editing but not being able to find anything that big settled for a 17" instead.
Summary: I purchased a Slate in March 2012 and have used it daily for business. It has met all my expectations - replacing the need to carry a diary, laptop, paper notebooks. With weight just under 1kg I freed up carrying 3.5kg. Yes the slate does get warm to hot during heavy use however, performance issues are not noticeable. I work on very large spreadsheets (50mb plus with calc times greater than 30sec) and the slate hasn't faulted.
