Summary: I usually trust Samsung computers but not this one. Adult owned. Processor- The i3 is slow and cannot handle multiple processes at once. Memory- Programs constantly crash and computer freezes because of lack of memory. Camera- The built in webcamera is very laggy. Mousepad- very sensitive to moisture on fingers. Hard Drive- Decent size amount of storage. Compatibility- Does not like to play nice with anything I plug into it.
Summary: This computer had very little merit if any. The keyboard and touch pad were sticky and often data had to be retyped. It couldn't be registered because the model number and sub model number were not in the scroll down. I emailed them and was told to email all the info and scan the receipt and digitalize it. I couldn't do that because my scanner wouldn't work on this computer. I tried out the magnifier, didn't like it and then spent hours trying to delete it.
Summary: I just received the laptop and it is BROWN instead of Silver as it is stated on Amazon.com very clearly. I went through the reviews and guess what? I am not the only one who got the brown one instead of silver. Is it a joke of some sort or what? I needed to have it today and paid extra for a one day shipping to get it today. now I have to return and wait until I get my money back? This is not funny at all.
Summary: Very clearly in the product description on Amazon it states this unit is silver. Very clearly on the retail packaging it reads "brown hairline pattern." Opening the box and removing the laptop confirmed the unit is brown. Where is the quality control? Now I'm out over $500 while I wait for a credit. Very lame, very sloppy.
Samsung Customer Service is Horrendous - cautionary tale
10 September 2011
Summary: Don't bother with a Samsung laptop of any kind. My brand new 1100 dollar machine required their attention and it took them 3 WEEKS to send me a mailing label (hello? Email?). Moreover I am extraordinarily disappointed that my 3 month old machine now has to be refurbished. That's not what I paid 1100 bucks for. Do they care? Are they trying to appease me? Nope. Samsung, once they get your money, could care less about your satisfaction.
Summary: One of the reasons I picked this computer is because it was suppose to come with a blu-ray drive. But when I got it there was no blu-ray drive. And now when I look at the description it no longer says blu-ray drive. So i feel like they are hiding their mistake. Plus I missed out on cyber Monday deals because of their mistake.
Summary: In the Amazon.com product description it states the R540 comes equipped with a Blu-Ray Drive. Got the laptop and no and behold, no blu-ray drive. That was one of the main reasons I purchased this unit.
