Summary: Samsung's R480 is an easy laptop to overlook. The 14" form factor isn't terribly hip or sexy these days, and the R480's manufacturer, Samsung, is a relatively small player in the notebook space. As we found, though, the R480's burgundy finish conceals a surprisingly worthy gaming machine—and excellent CPU performance to boot.
It's just a shame the game-worthiness doesn't go hand-in-hand with good battery life, or this system would be a home run for Samsung.
