Samsung CSR gotta stop trolling
Summary: Was great laptop until they released BIOS update that caused problem with resuming from sleep (no longer able to do so, crashed, cold boot). Tried to update with new BIOS, CSR pretty much trolling. Sent it in for diagnosed/repair, came back the same with bloatware installed. :/ Samsung really disappointing this time.
Summary: I've never written any reviews for any product, but this product needs a deterrent-so here it is. Do not get this laptop! I've wasted so much time and money buying this awful piece of junk. I have sent it in TWICE for repairs and every time it comes back, the SAME problem is still there! It blue screens almost every other day, the WIFI connection of this laptop is AWFUL; it connects/disconnects every so often. The touchpad freezes every so often.
Summary: Zero stars. I bought a Samsung series 9 about 6 mos ago. I bought it to be a lightweight business computer as I travel a lot. It is lightweight and quite sleek but so slow that it is virtually useless. Just basic websurfing is problematic and usually when I try to visit a website or click on a link, it times out. The issue is not my connection - my 3-year old Sony (which was about 1/2 the price) runs laps around the series 9 on the same wifi connection.
Summary: Yes, the laptop is beautiful, sleek, light (for a 15-inch) - as far as appearance goes, I cannot be happier. However, the first Samsung Series 9 I bought through Amazon was defective that I had to get a refund. The laptop battery would not charge - it would forever stagnate at a certain percentage (80 something), and when the power cord was pulled out, the laptop would shut down.
NP900X4C-A03US: very aggressive Samsung software keeps WiFi turned OFF
25 August 2013
Summary: For the past 24 hrs I have tried to deal with the way Samsung takes over Windows 7 Pro. My background: Have used W7Pro for 3 years, on an Asus Zenbook and on a Sony Vaio VPCZ1 series. So one could say this is familiar territory. And have used laptops since 1994 (when I got my first MacBook 520 bw). So one could say I know my way around laptops and W7.
Summary: I purchased this laptop for work. It is a complete lemon. For $1,700 this laptop should be nearly perfect - it is barely passable as a functioning computer. I would give it zero stars if I could. The trackpad is balky. Simple tasks like pointing and clicking require multiple attempts. It is maddening. Sometimes it just doesn't work. You have to restart the computer for it to work again. Sometimes the computer will not recognize the free space on the hard drive.
Summary: I feel compelled to share my pain after purchasing this Samsung series 9 15" ultrabook. The physical design is excellent however it is clear from the little things that Samsung has not been in the notebook market for very long - trackpad is sketchy, Wifi range poor and screen randomly dims and brightens unrelated to ambient lighting conditions. But those things I could live with...
Summary: I liked the laptop until i spilled water into it; then found out it is not user-servicable, but also that your everyday computer tech doesn't know how to get into it. So I sent it off to the 3rd party repair facility they sent a label for; upon receipt they sent an email with a picture of a chipped corner of the laptop, saying the warranty was void because it had been dropped.
Summary: The unit I received was defective from day one. It had the dropping wi-fi issue other reviewers have noted. It is hard to imagine Samsung keeps seeling a defective product. I called Samsung support and in many different sessions we tried installing updates, wiping the hard drive, and other techniques that did not work. They finally admitted it was a hardware issue and said I would need to send it in for repairs that would take up to 15 business days to complete.
Summary: After doing some research I bought Samsung Series 9 NP900x4c-A06US. Though others had pointed out the WiFi issues, i ignored them and hoped that a software fix would be available now. I went to Amazon.com to purchase it, but it was sold by an amazon 3rd party seller. The Laptop looks awesome, great packaging and very sleek and beautiful. Windows 8 is great too. But WiFi connectivity is disastrous. I had to re-connect 10-30 times an hour.
