Terribly Sexy Laptop
15 April 2014
Summary: If your reading this you've been lured by the sleek look of this laptop, don't be fooled. It has been a pain in the ass in many ways. My biggest complaints are: Track pad goes haywire randomly and you have to restart to get it working again Settings for the trackpad and lighting features randomly restore to default often enough to where I just deal with default When closed the computer does not turn off so it will be dead if it is not plugged in (there is a setting that...
Summary: The device arrived with only a recover disk 'copy' of the system OS. ... and now Samsung does not seem to care to support the updating of the systems firmware or original OS applications. Huummm??
Summary: I bought this model in mid-October, and was pleased with it until, for the second time, it went dead after hibernation and couldn't be resuscitated. (The first time it had responded to rest, prodding of the battery emergency hole, and other voodoo.) I sent it to Samsung warranty support, who claimed that it was repaired and "tested under the observation of service technician which turned out to be the positive".
Summary: Amazon, I believe that it is not a your policy to defraud your "valued customer". You should be more careful when you send item to your customer. I am very disappointed. I ordered New samsung ATIV Book 9 at the price of about $1700, but what I received is a used one. How did I know that is used one? For the first time, I turned the computer on, the computer asked me password for ID "tkreber". I want you to refund my money as quickly as possible.
Summary: Just a piece of junk! The keyboard is ultra sensitive that made my typing experience a nightmare; Samsung has no fixes for this systematic problem. The hard drive is small, it is rated for 100 Gb but its real capacity is in the low 90 Gb. It comes with windows 8 installed, yet you have to separately purchase windows 8 software from another vendor. No CD drive, very proprietary VGA plug that requires you to buy costly adapter/cable.
Summary: This was a great notebook computer while it lasted! It has know issues with wireless connectivity that I only experienced when trying to connect to my IPhone hotspot but not with other Wi-Fi hotspots. However, after about 12 months I started getting an intermittent "white" screen that would resolve with a reboot. After 16 months It died! Now just a white screen all the time! Samsung won't cover parts or repair.
Summary: I purchased this laptop for work. It is a complete lemon. For $1,700 this laptop should be nearly perfect - it is barely passable as a functioning computer. I would give it zero stars if I could. The trackpad is balky. Simple tasks like pointing and clicking require multiple attempts. It is maddening. Sometimes it just doesn't work. You have to restart the computer for it to work again. Sometimes the computer will not recognize the free space on the hard drive.
Summary: I liked the laptop until i spilled water into it; then found out it is not user-servicable, but also that your everyday computer tech doesn't know how to get into it. So I sent it off to the 3rd party repair facility they sent a label for; upon receipt they sent an email with a picture of a chipped corner of the laptop, saying the warranty was void because it had been dropped.
