Samsung Notebook Series 9 NP900X4C Ultrabook Review

APC
3 October 2012
  • Excerpt: You’ve gotta hand it to Samsung the vendor’s taking the Apple chase seriously. Of all the competitors in the consumer technology race we think Samsung is the one that most consistently nips at Apple’s heels and sometimes gets ahead. Bearing in mind that our current Intel notebook of choice comes from ASUS — the excellent UX31A — this is another strong showing from Samsung.
  • Pros: Great built quality good performance upgradable storage and RAM.
  • Cons: Only includes 128GB SSD.

Review Update Samsung 900X4C-A04DE Notebook

Notebookcheck
14 July 2012
  • Summary: Longer battery life - courtesy of Ivy Bridge. Samsung's Series 9 top-of-the-line model delights us again with its unibody construction and perfectly executed input devices. The new processor allows for longer run times on battery. The HD+ display remains unchanged.
  • Pros: sleek aluminum unibody, construction, look and feel, up-to-date port selection, connections via adapter, input devices are a pleasure to use, non-glare display with HD+, high TFT brightness, good multi-media performance, reliable Turbo Boost 2.0, emissions during idle, long battery runtime, keyboard backlighting, Extended battery life, an aluminum unibody chassis which is a pleasure to use. The speed of the components should ensure future-proofing for the next 2-3 years.
  • Cons: low contrast levels, narrow viewing angles, "slow" mSATA-SSD, high temperature levels under load, mediocre sound from speakers

Review Samsung Series 9 900X4B-A01DE Notebook

Notebookcheck
10 June 2012
  • Summary: Premium slim case. Amidst Samsung's Series 9 refresh, there is now a model featuring a matte 15 inch screen available. In return, the smallest member has not been updated. The South Korean manufacturer demands steep EUR 1999 (RRP) for speedy hardware in a slim case.
  • Pros: High-end aluminum unibody, Chassis' workmanship and feel, Up-to-date connectivity, Components' easy maintenance, Pleasant input devices, Screen's matte surface and HD+, Good multimedia performance, Samsung's fast mSATA SSD, Emissions in idle, Available battery life, The case's new design, the aluminum unibody's workmanship and the altogether good overall impression.
  • Cons: Slim scope of delivery, Keyboard light fairly weak, Weak screen measuring data, No Turbo Boost 2.0 on battery or stress test, Load noise and temperature, Poor stereo speakers, Above all, a higher quality screen whose measured data convinces across the board. The screen's matte surface and the resolution are a good start. Also, we miss the HDMI and VGA adapter in scope of delivery.

Samsung 900X4C review

Stuff.tv
9 August 2012
  • Conclusion: For the cash, we'd rather have a MacBook Air, as its finish and compact size make it more companionable. Then again, if you find 13in screens eye-straining, the Samsung 900X4C is a viable option.

Samsung 9-serie 900X4C-A02SE

DinSide.no
5 December 2012
Like bra?
