The single worst laptop experience in 15 years
3 weeks ago
Summary: I'm actually a Sr. Tech Consultant that can build computers from scratch with parts, so I need very little support - I've had many laptops over the years, and getting this laptop was the single biggest laptop mistake I ever made. It was just terrible. I had lots of strange issues with it. The hard drive crashed twice. Windows 8 never quite fully worked well on it (caused some of the function keys to not work).
Summary: The only thing that I don't like is the touchpad. The position makes my palm move the cursor when Im typing sometimes and the right click function is very glitchy. Many times when I try to right click, it left clicks. I use a USB mouse most of the time so it's not that big of a deal, but it's still quite annoying when I am not using the mouse.
Summary: I have owned the Samsung Series 9 NP900X4C-A03US 15-Inch Ultrabook (Ash Black) for quite a while but wanted to have that numerical pad! Using my Alienware ALW18-2990sLV 18.4-Inch Laptop did the job but was a little thick not to mention the heavy weight of 11.9 pounds was well heavy on the knee! The solution is this notebook. Under one inch in thickness with a DVD burner. Awesome specifications on this notebook with the exception of the hard drive.
Summary: Good laptop. I work with autocad and the big size screen is important to me. Maybe the keyboard has some key too small. The extra number pad is very usefull. Video is amazing sharp (when use in correct battery plan).
Without a doubt the worst experience with a laptop... ever...

Summary: Important to note that Samsung has the worst warranty process I've ever experienced, and as a result, I'll never purchase their laptops again. I've had Toshibas, Dells, IBMs, etc. I'm a high-end power user (Photoshop, Dreamweaver, etc.) and I'm also extremely tech-savvy when it comes to fixing electronics. I purchased this laptop and the drive crashed after 2 months. I had to send the laptop to their Texas facility (it took 3 weeks for the turnaround)...
Summary: After owning this laptop for several weeks, I am very impressed. First off let me say that I got this at BestBuy and had no plans to buy a laptop the day I got it. Upon entering BestBuy, I did my shopping and decided to take a look at the laptops they had because I like seeing how far new technology has gone and I had plans to buy a new laptop sometime within a year. So, I am walking around the endless tables of laptops just in a "meh" mood and then I see this thing.
Summary: The laptop itself is fine - Samsung makes gorgeous displays of every size, from smart phones to wall sized televisions. This is no exception. However the screen broke on mine due to an accident, and it has been impossible to find anywhere to repair it. The usual third party screen repair places cannot seem to repair this screen, and Samsung itself farms out the repairs to a third party company that won't return my call. This has been a $1500 boat anchor for weeks now.
Summary: Maybe the seller didn't realize that computer has the virus, but I just found the virus in this computer. So, I am trying my best to fix this computer. Unfortunately, the Recovery CD is not included, so I don't know what I should do if I can't fix the virus problem. Maybe the warranty for this computer is still valid, so I can bring this computer to Samsung service center or whatever.
