Samsung Series 7 Gamer 700G7A Review

Digitaltrends
4 December 2012
  • Conclusion: We’re able to appreciate the laptop’s incredible hardware in spite of its design shortcomings. This isn’t just a gaming machine; it’s also a portable workstation, a multi-media powerhouse, and a capable desktop replacement. The Samsung Series 7 Gamer is the only computer you’d ever need. Portability excluded, of course. That doesn’t mean the Series 7 Gamer is the only computer you’ll want, however.
  • Pros: Pleasing keyboard and touchpad, The best laptop display we’ve ever tested, Quick, well-rounded performance, Affordable (for a gaming laptop)
  • Cons: Gaudy exterior, Average build quality, Subpar connectivity, Poor battery life

Can Samsung’s beefy gaming rig live up to its name?

theverge.com
19 July 2012
  • Summary: My latent inner miser is phoning in again, harping on about rent payments and weighing the relative merits of pricey gaming laptops versus gaming desktops that arguably offer a better bang for your buck. If you’re in the market for a desktop replacement, the Samsung Series 7 Gamer will certainly not disappoint, serving up strong performance in an attractive package for years to come. But lurking in the shadows (in my mind at least) is Alienware’s juggernaut.
  • Pros: Stylish design, Bright, attractive display, Strong (though not category leading) performance
  • Cons: Lackluster battery life, A bit pricey, Not very future-proof

Samsung Series 7 Gamer review: Gaming excellence that won't fit in your backpack

CNET
23 May 2012
  • Summary: The Samsung Series 7 Gamer is huge, expensive, and unattractive, but it's also one of the best gaming laptops that we've seen this year. If you don't mind its beefy 17-inch form, you won’t be disappointed.
  • Pros: The Samsung Series 7 Gamer has a fantastic screen, plenty of ports, a blazing processor and graphics, and most of the features you'd be looking for in a gaming desktop replacement.
  • Cons: This clunky beast isn't a looker, and it's hardly priced to be relevant to most shoppers: at slightly under $2,000, this is a specialty item.

Samsung Series 7 Gamer Review

LAPTOP Magazine
14 May 2012
  • Summary: With record-breaking speed, a superb display and excellent keyboard, the Samsung Series 7 Gamer is one of the best gaming laptops to hit our labs. Games ran smoothly even at their highest settings and videos and Web pages looked spectacular on the full HD display. And let's not forget the Gamer's impressive audio. The only drawback that prevents this notebook from being an Editors' Choice pick is the heat it generates.

Review Samsung Series 7 Gamer 700G7A Notebook

Notebookcheck
24 November 2011
  • Summary: Attack on the gaming elite. Alienware and Asus have to watch out: Samsung presents a serious opponent for the gaming leaders, M17x and G74SX, called 700G7A. In addition to high-end components (Radeon HD 6970M) and good equipment (Blu-Ray drive), the 17 inch laptop has an illuminated keyboard. So, nothing can go wrong, or?
  • Pros: High-end screen, Illuminated keyboard, Good input devices, Good equipment, Two big HDDs, Blu-Ray drive, Recovery DVD, Great performance, Samsung has opted for an extremely fast high-end GPU with the Radeon HD 6970M.
  • Cons: Temperatures during load, Sensitive lid, Scanty battery life, High weight, A matt case lid and a better battery life.
