Summary: Thought I should contribute to the rating & discussion as it was the basis for me purchasing this Samsung laptop on 12/20/2012. I am not a computer expert but am experienced using laptops for my business over the past nearly 15 years. I have been using this laptop everyday (normally 6 hours a day) for nearly four months now. The laptop replaced my Dell Inspirion 11 11.6-Inch Obsidian Black Laptop (Windows 7 Premium)which I had for a number of years and very much liked.
Summary: Great price for the features of the machine. Graphics are good. Primarily, I use it for e-mails, surfing the net, and watching videos online. I do not game or do any graphics work on the laptop so I can't comment too much on the graphics card...but what I can say is that having a separate card is a lot better than shared! Screen is nice and bright but I have dimmed mine as I like mine darker...also saves on battery life. Boots up quite quickly.
Cons: preloaded with windows 8 and other useless programs
Summary: I have been using this computer since early February. The only thing I have to complain is Samsung's lack of native support nor divers for Linux. The lack of appropriate drivers and energy settings reduces the battery life for 1:30 hours in Ubuntu, for example. And bad sound in Skype for Linux. The overall performance of the battery is amazing for windows - 3.30 to 4 hours of college-use, and it is very thin and light.
Summary: Researched a lot to make this purchase by reading the other reviews here. I am pleased to report the GOOD reviews about this laptop were accurate. I was leery of the AMD processor, as I perceived AMD processors are not considered as good as Intel. That turns out to be a myth. Having no issues -- runs fast and smooth. Boots up quickly as advertised. Heat does not seem excessive for a Quad processor. The screen, keyboard, etc. run great for ndows 7 or 8.
Summary: Really nice laptop. Light, yet sturdy. Keys and keypad work well. Fast and connect well to the monitor. It would be great if it came with the whole Microsoft Office, and not jus the Starter Package.
Summary: I have had this computer since the middle of September and overall I am very pleased with it. I did add 4gb of memory and a Samsung 830 256gb SSD drive. The start up and wake up times are very fast, almost no waiting. The computer is a little heavier than most ultrabooks (I know it has to be Intel based to be a true ultrabook) but remember it has a DVD drive where most ultrabooks don't. However I have found a few issues: It does get a little warm.
Summary: I've had an interesting experience with this system. Like another reviewer, my first one had a bad trackpad, and the trackpad configuration software was broken - it would crash as soon as I ran it. So I RMA'd it back to Amazon, and got a replacement system. My second system's trackpad worked properly. The trackpad configuration software was still broken, until something happened internally which fixed it. I do not know which update I did to fix it, but something did.

Summary: Our Asus G75VW laptop purchased in Sept 2012 for nearly $1,400 and registered with ASUS is defective and needs to be returned. It is now booting into a black screen, which is typically a hardware issue. We hear Windows complete startup, so it is likely a bad LVDS cable connection, bad cable, electrical short, or faulty power supply. Apparently other users have encountered this same issue. Regardless of the cause, we now to exchange the defective laptop for a new unit.
