Summary: EDIT: I have left a fantastic review below but start having problems with the unit. I called Samsung and they said I will have to exchange the laptop since there is something wrong and it is a manufacture defect. I have issues typing and using the mouse. Bummer! I will give it another chance though since I love it otherwise! Amazon is sending me another one and I'm sure it will be fine! I LOVE this computer otherwise! Version 3 Is awesome!
Summary: I've had this laptop for a couple of months and wanted to give an honest opinion/review after adjusting to Win8 (I Use Win7 and XP as well). Thus far, this has been a surprisingly agile, easy to navigate, fun to own laptop. Having never experienced the AMD processor before, I was quite pleasantly surprised in regards to performance for all of the apps I use (Microsoft Office Suite, Music and Video, Games, Social Apps, etc etc etc..
Summary: I swore the last time I purchased a PC that it would be the LAST PC I'd buy. But I have been so frustrated with an old Vista basic machine that I didn't have the funds to purchase a REAL computer (Hint....Apple). So I began my quest to replace my desktop with a decent laptop that could be somewhat more versatile. After a rather protracted search I settled on a budget I was comfortable with and went in search for the best value. Well this is definitely the one.
Summary: ATTENTION: If you need drivers for this laptop, go to the Samsung website, start an online chat, and just ask them for the SW Update program. They will send it to you free right through chat, and it basically downloads and installs all the drivers you need automatically. VERY convenient, especially since their driver page is down for this laptop.
Summary: For a general-purpose laptop, this series is probably as good as you'll get for the money. It's fast, quiet, doesn't get too hot, and seems fairly sturdy. It's perfectly serviceable for gaming, although some newer games (e.g. Bioshock Infinite) need to run at lower settings to get smooth performance. The screen is nice and sharp, although it has a fairly narrow viewing angle, the keyboard is responsive and has a nice feel to it, and the number pad is a nice addition.
Summary: It is Good for Mild Gamming, I Game on Built Desktop PC for a while now. Needed something to go to lan parties to play FPS, does a good job for the resolution of 1.3x.7k resolucion it works with. Not recomended for Online Flash games or other CPU intensive Apps because of the Temps when at max Speeds...
Summary: I bought the computer to have a laptop that I could run games on. It does well for that. I still do not enjoy Windows 8 and wish I had been able to find this computer with Windows 7. Maybe I'll load Ubuntu on it on a SSD.
Summary: I've had several weeks to use this laptop, so here are my considered opinions. I purchased this laptop because it was pretty much the only laptop with dual graphics without two discrete cards that was anywhere near my budget. My goal was to have a laptop that could acceptably run some recent games but still be a portable machine for everyday work. I wanted to casually game without having to have a huge, heavy, expensive, hot, and noisy laptop. Plus, I'm a huge AMD homer.
Summary: Got this unit at Best Buy in Canada for $499 yesterday and it came with 8GB of ram not 6GB. Best Value by a country mile in an under $500 laptop I could find. Going to try the free AMD RamDrive to see if it works in improving video buffering on web browsing.
