Summary: I bought to replace a PC operating under XP. As I wanted as little change in procedures as possible, I opted for a laptop running under Windows 7 (rather than the fundamental change adopted by Windows 8). This Samsung met that requirement. The smaller screen is taking getting used to when I had a 19" before and I will look at connecting the old screen to the laptop. I have not used the mouse pad and via a USB socket I have connected my radio mouse.
Summary: Bought this a year ago and it hasn't disappointed. The speed has slowed a bit but that is normal as you put on more software - I've yet to hear of a medium priced laptop that performs as well as it gets older - overall pleased with the product apart from the peculiarity that the cursor tends to move when typing if you're not careful and type in the wrong position ie palms low on keyboard!
Summary: I've had a few laptops, but this one was a dream to set up - as someone else has said, it virtually did the whole thing itself! I have never had a trouble-free connection of a new laptop to my wireless router, but this one did it. I like the aesthetics, it's got good connectivity, and it's pretty fast. My only grouse is that the touchpad is not as positive as my old Sony.
Summary: This product was good value for price when I bought it in May 2012. The only downside is the lack of a graphics card. If you are into playing computer games on your laptop, go for another product. Otherwise, this is a good laptop, had no problems since I bought it.
A good quality, robust laptop that does all I need and more!

Excerpt: Having reviewed similar products on the market at the time that I bought this (June 2012) I spotted the Samsung RF511 in stores priced around £50 more than my vague budget. On further inspection I found it to be worth, in my view, more than the £50 extra and made that decision to take the plunge. One decision that I have had absolutely no regrets about. I have a Samsung TV and love the allshare application that allows streaming.
Pros: Solid, sleek, robust
Cons: Fingerprints on the casing is all I can cite as a downside
Summary: I was looking for a Core i5 laptop and this certainly fit the bill. Feels solidly built with 8gb of RAM and 1Tb of memory, this should be future proof for the next few years. Vivid screen for watching avi and dvds.Fast boot up compared to my old Dell and good battery life. My only negatives are that the screen is highly reflective so not great if using outside.
Initial review, will update it after couple of months

Summary: I received this laptop today, I liked the overall product. The audio quality is on the down-side but is good for watching a you-tube video but might not be great for watching a movie. The HD screen is great and the option for USB 3 ports helps transferring data from my old laptop to new. I bought this laptop as extension of my work @ home, so until now it had given all I asked for! I will update this review after a few months if I find anything noticeable.
Summary: Get this laptop if you want the job done. Quick performance, can handle multiple programs running with great ease. I run Photoshop, Firefox, Word, BS Player and have a few other windows open at the same time and it never stalls. Very quiet, also when dvd is playing/recording. Keyboard offers a great typing experience, very good feel.
