Samsung NF210 : A Netbook with Sexy Curves but Average Scores
16 April 2011
Summary: The NF210 is priced at Rs. 22,990 and the question is should you buy it? The NF210 recorded some decent scores, but netbooks are always expected to run for longer durations. Also, the hard drive was a little too slow. While the NF210’s curves and looks bowled us over, it performs very much like the Toshiba NB520. So, if you’re not too hell bent on looks, we suggest you rather go for the NB520 which costs about Rs. 1,500 lesser and will give you the same performance.
Summary: Just when you thought it was safe... The NF210-HZ1 is Samsung’s second Shark netbook. The matt HD screen and powered USB of the first Shark are omitted; but it scores points for portability - a 3G UMTS module is included as standard. Is this a useful addition to Samsung’s range?
Pros: Workmanship and design, Comfortable keyboard, Matt screen, Integrated UMTS module, Application performance, Upgradable, Long battery life, The integrated UMTS module and the shark design of the ivory white NF210.
Cons: Battery sits loosely, Not delivered with any extras, Selection of ports, Contrast and black level

Summary: The Samsung NF210-A01AU is a great netbook. It feels comfortable to use, it's light and it looks good. Best of all, its battery life is tremendous! It lasted over six hours when playing videos with its screen at full brightness, and over 10 hours when performing basic tasks. We recommend it to anyone who wants a netbook with excellent battery life.
Pros: Excellent battery life, very good keyboard, comfortable to use, matte screen, interesting design
Cons: Sometimes sluggish performance, lots of preinstalled software, balance could be better
Conclusion: There's no denying that the NF210 is a very nice netbook indeed. The slick design goes some way towards justifying the slightly high price tag, as does the satisfyingly comfortable keyboard and the zippy dual-core processor. If price is the most important consideration, then you can probably find a comparable model for less money.
Pros: Chic design, dual-core Intel Atom processor, good keyboard
Excerpt: The NF210 is the first Samsung netbook to use the latest generation Intel Atom processor. The new N550 chip includes a second processor core for increased performance, which helps compensate for its relatively slow 1.5GHz clock speed. Small form desktop PCs have used dual-core Atom processors for a while, but these weren’t ideal to fit in netbooks because of their higher power requirements. The new mobile chips use much less power, but still have two physical cores.
