Summary: Compared to the MACbook I use, this was never going to be a realistic contender, but I got this for my dad who is less snobbish. But even he didn't appreciate some of the clumsy features.... Eg the scroll pad needs modifying as the speed is auto-set to very fast. Its also not very touch sensitive... I often find you need to push up / down a few times before corresponding movement on the screen. Overall: Does what its meant to.. just a bit clumsy in execution.
I can see the point of netbooks but ultimately this one left me feeling a bit cold

Excerpt: I first purchased this netbook around a year ago while looking for something portable to display images I'd taken at car shows, make quick edits and send to my dye sub printer, all on site. I thought a netbook would be the way to go as my laptop was a bit to big and heavy, plus laptop battery life is usually not brilliant, whereas netbooks excel in this area.
Excerpt: When our house was flooded last summer, life turned into a bit of a nightmare. We were forced to move into rental accommodation for three months. We were lucky in the fact that a friend was able to rent a newly renovated barn to us (many who were flooded in our area had to make do with caravans in their front gardens due to a distinct lack of local rental property such was the demand).
Pros: Light and extremely portable . Easy and quick WiFi connectivity . HDMI socket .
Cons: Rather slow . Greasy fingerprint marks to outer casing . Windows 7 starter is limiting .
Summary: I bought this net book for my daughter who is taking a gap year abroad. The hard drive crashed after 6 months which was frustrating. However, Samsung were extremely good and repaired it even though she was the other side of the world. We just had to provide all the purchase paper work.
Summary: I bought it to replace my NC10, which is a dream/ but was starting to show its age with a dying and wheezing fan, as well as attacks of the dreaded white screen. The NC110 comes with Windows 7, supposedly superior to XP, which I have used at home and work. But it is one of the great failings of modern software, the near universal drive to improve perfection. With W7, I can't find anything I want, but the system seems to want to ,make me use things I don't want.
Summary: I thought this looked like a cracker of a buy but it's actually quite on the slow side. I upgraded to 2gb RAM from the standard 1Gb and still it's pretty laggy. Skype gives a warning message saying it's too slow for video calls. It doesn't play youtube very smoothly either. The only real thing it has going for it is that it is small and it looks good. maybe all netbooks are like this in terms of performance though but I was expecting a bit more to be honest.
Summary: A neat purposeful light weight netbook. Has wireless connectivity issues. In the same environment as a Toshiba Laptop which functions without problems the Samsung regularly looses its internet connection and requires Windows troubleshooter to reset the default gateway advising "Wireless Network Connection adapter" reset before it can again access the the Internet.
Cons: As a computer novice it gave me bad moments in set-up. Getting transfers from my main p.c was a real headache. The sound quality is tinny. On reflection it may have been better to buy an i pad. However, overall it is o.k.
