Summary: Bought this as an alternative to my desktop. Bought on eBay for £150 6 weeks ago and I absolutely love it! The screen is perfect, hd quality and when plugged in, as bright as you'd like! I often use mine for watching shows online in bed, the sound isn't bad either with the SRS function. Windows 7 starter has a LOT of limitations so I recommend upgrading to Ultimate as soon as you get this netbook as I did.
Summary: I really liked this Samsung Netbook, especially the keyboard with separate keys. However, after a year of no issues the motherboard just broke, unfortunately one month after the warranty had ended. Buying a netbook, of course one doesn't expect the quality of a laptop. Having said that I took greatest care of the netbook (never dropped, not a single scratch, always kept it in a Pakuma sleeve with extra padding)and experiencing a hardware failure so early on is...
Summary: for a very portable small laptop this does the job for me. I carry it around wit me alot and use it on my bed and alongside my desktop sometimes and wouldn't be without it. only gripes are the hour or so i spent unistalling the "crapware" samsung had put on, for something that supposed to do web browsing and email it was bloated up with games and various other junk. althought it has a camera for skype etc it is very laggy.
Summary: Long long battery life, everything works well, but the free software is a real negative. If you install hyperspace you can't remove it and it means that you have to go through unix to use Windows. So make sure you don't install it.
Summary: Make sure you test your Samsung product to be according to what adevrtised when you buy it, especially the battery life. If you do not get the time they say - return the product! Many Samsung laptops come with imperfect battery. They work, but not as long as advertised. My laptop's battery lasts 7 hours when running just Windows (with no application on top, and reduced screen brightness) and about 5 hours when using it with browising, text editing, etc - the usual...
Cons: battery life not as advertised, bad maintainance samsung service
Summary: All the reviews I've read on here cover the main pros and cons of this netbook so there's not much point me repeating what's already been covered. What I will comment on however, is the ubiquitous complaint concerning the operation of the on/off switch. As far as I'm concerned, this is not a legitimate complaint; it's nothing more than a whinge. It does not irritate my fingers one jot and my fingers are by no means made of asbestos.
Summary: Pretty happy with the purchase. Screen good, 250G hard drive BUT comes with an awful lot off preloaded stuff that slows the operation right down. The problem is that you're not sure if you need half of the stuff so you're scared to delete it just in case. Lots of pop ups askng your permission to write to hard disk, how do I know if I should say yes or no?
Summary: Guys, don't be fooled. From the Samsung N220 product page, it says it comes with the "Easy Resolution Manager" tool. This means you can manually go to the tool, and adjust the resolution yourself. I saw a YouTube video of an owner going through various resolutions. While I was at the electronics store, I gave this Netbook a test run, and I was able to adjust the resolution. All you have to do is right click on the desktop, and there you go. Try it for yourselves.
