Excerpt: I recently purchased the Samsung Chromebook for school. I find that the speed was more than I expected. I can watch TV and movies. I can listen to music while I'm doing my homework. The music is clear and sounds great. The light weight portability helps me bring my chromebook to the different classes, without being weighed down. I like the word and excel application. The apps are easy to download and use. Its a great price for a portable laptop.
Excerpt: I bought this so I could do projects on dhutterfly and the kids can use the textbook websites. It works good for that. I still haven't figured out how to save stuff on the memory card that I put into the memory card slot, but I will eventually.
Excerpt: Being an older person, I could not understand the handstokes involved in the touch screens, so I REALLY like having a keyboard. I like how light the chrome book is, and easy to move it around the house. I love not having to wait for Microsoft to boot up. However, I did learn that some of the slowness of my laptop was my internet service, not just Microsoft. I use the Chromebook to look up things on the internet from conversations or while watching TV.
Excerpt: I pretty much like my new Chromebook. Although, I wish there was a better instruction booklet that would tell you how to do different things on the machine. I would then like it much better. I wish I knew how to enlarge the print at times. An instruction booklet on how to different function would make the Chromebook so much nicer. Without that, at times it becomes very frustrating trying to do a certain function.
Pros: Bright, Durable, Good Value, Professional Weight, Sharp Tones & Colors
Excerpt: Great little computer, lightweight and so much easier to use than a tablet. You do have to get used to the touch pad and the keyboard short cuts but that is the only drawback. I thought I'd have issues with Google Docs - but so far no issues. I have not tried updating a Google doc, just opening email attachments.
Excerpt: This Chromebook was purchased by my 12 yo daughter with her birthday money. She has access to one identical to it at her school and wanted one for home too. She LOVES it. She surfs the web, works on school projects, emails her friends and finds cute pictures of puppies and kitties for her desktop background image. Now, had this been for me, it would not get such great reviews. It can not be used like a regular lap top and the functionality is limited.
Excerpt: Beginning to use the Chrome Book was extremely easy and intuitive. The normal interface to the machine is the Chrome browser which is very capable. Of course all the Google Aps are enhanced on a machine that is a Google Native. The Aps are native to what replaces the Start Toolbar. In addition all the usual web products are available except a ton of mal ware.On the negative side, the cloud printing interface is rather mysterious and it is so much easier to print from the...
Pros: Good Value, Google Aps Access, Great Cloud Access, Handy Size, Long battery life, Wifi Native
Excerpt: The Chromebook is my "travel/spare" computer, very useful for checking email. I just pull it out of the bag, open up, check, respond, close it, and I'm done. I use a couple of offline apps when needed.I especially appreciate the way the Chrome browser coordinates links with my desktop (a regular PC). As noted, it's a spare, so it doesn't have Dragon speech recognition software (which I use for drafting long, windy research reports), nor my iTunes library.
