Excerpt: Bought this as a backup to my laptop to take camping with us and check news, E mails, etc. It would not connect to my home router, a G series. Was told I would have to have, and buy, an N series router to get connected. It recognized my router , but would not connect! Took it back to store.
Pros: Bright, Professional Weight, Sharp Tones & Colors
Excerpt: So I have been having lots of unusual crashes and even had the chromebook say that the network was unavailable (at that same moment my wife was surfing the net on her iPad and did not have any problems; my son streaming Netflix also did not experience any problems) So I had to restart the machine. After some research I found that the chrome book does not like N wireless, it only works with G wireless at reduced speeds too!
Excerpt: was the worst laptop I have ever purchased, stopped working after 7 days. it forces you to use Google Chrome for internet, if you dont sign up for an account you have to sign in as a guest when using the internet. buy something else.
Cons: Have To Use Google, Limited Uses, Slow To Boot Up, Stopped Working
Excerpt: Now I know what CLOUD means...this light-weight computer is basically a shell. Everything is saved in ether-space... I want control over my writing, powerpoint, spreadsheet as to where they are saved...
Cons: Obviously Cloud Denotes, Something Which I Didn't, Understand
Summary: Totally useless at connecting to wifi - often a dozen attempts before it would finally play ball. None of the 7 other devices in the family has any trouble. Of course may have been a faulty one, but it was rock solid once connected so seems unlikely. Seemed easiest to return within the 30 days. I would try another chromebook but not a Samsung.
