Don't set your expectations too high.

Summary: I think I set my expectations too high. I was looking for a 1-to-1 device that would compete well against $500.00 devices. Pros: 1. Cost $250.00 is getting close to consumable pricing. 2. Works great with googles suit of online apps. 3. Looks Nice 4. Lots of free Apps 5. Boots fast. Cons: 1. Buggy? (Crashed right out of the box when I tried to use the camera app. After updating the OS it started but crashed. After Reboot..it has not crashed.) 2.
Summary: First, what I hope is a manufacturing defect: The other day, the wife closed the lid and didn't put it on the charger (since it was full already). Next day, it was out of juice (plugging it in showed that). Then, the day after that, I was looking at a video, paused it, closed the lid. As I was walking away from it sound started coming out of the speakers. It had started to play the video.
Summary: I am very disappointed with the chromebook. I was hoping to replace my laptop computer, but so far this device cannot stream netflix or amazon videos. I love it otherwise, it is small and light and boots up so quickly. I was also hoping to use it to transfer pictures from my camera to the cloud drive, but this is either impossible or difficult to figure out - I spent a few hours trying the other night and was unsuccessful.
Summary: I really wanted to love this Chromebook, but it let me down! The minute I read about this new device,I pre-ordered one for myself and one as a gift. I wanted a extra device to supplement my desk computer and replace an aging (but still good) Samsung netbook. All the reviews are correct that all you have to do is take it out of the box and it is ready to go. The keyboard is great, the startup speed is instantaneous and it is easy to use. Battery life is great too.
Stay away, sounds good but the experience is aweful

Summary: I am considering taking this back. The performance is sub par, frequent errors and freezes. Browsing is incredibly slow for regular websites, it felt like my internet connection was 56k. While I was using this today to browse reddit it froze 3 times and required a hardboot before I gave up on it and pulled out my laptop. I loved the idea this and was waiting so long for them to be available.
Summary: OK....I own an office with about 45 people and our IT needs are obviously a considerable expense of over 65 k a year. I read "In The Plex" about inside Google (Great readBTW) and I have been using chrome and google docs for quite a while to prepare for a transition office wide for an all Chrome cloud based office. I have been using Chrome on a MacBook Pro. So anyway I ordered one of the Chromebooks the DAY it came out and mine arrived this morning.
Summary: I am a student and I love Google, but I just can't seem to appreciate the chromebook! Here's a quick run down from my perspective! It has an amazing battery life! I charge it at night and i'm good for the day! Excellent start-up time, and with it's excellent battery life I just close the chromebook and start where I left off... assuming there is wi-fi... Cloud computing is one of chromebook's main features, however... it's a laptop...
Summary: Bought Samsung chromebook, worked OK alone. When connected to my new TV, the chomebook stopped, couldn't mirror or extend Happened a few times, I was little disappointed It gave an error, resolutions don't match returned the chromebook.
