Summary: The computer is powerful and sexy. I like how sturdy it feels. So far, I'm impressed with the screen. It's full 1080 HD and it's noticeable! The "touch" is extremely accurate. I'm a computer science student, the keyboard feels nice, the screen resolution gives me plenty of real estate to code on and the backlit helps. The first thing you should do is go the Windows 8 "home screen", start typing "SW Updates" and open the Samsung update utility.
Summary: nice computer windows 8 is just so different all the swipe options are hard to get accustomed to so I use the win 7 emulator works better for me. My only real criticism is the touch pad it does not have the left and right click pads i have been using for years instead you have to click in the bottom left or right corners of the huge touch pad takes some used to. I alwas seem to miss.
Summary: Have had laptop for 2 months...use it almost every day. I use the laptop mostly to 1.) create ad's (e.g. flyers, post cards, brochures) 2.) update Social Media for businesses (e.g.: Facebook, LinkedIN, Pinterest etc.) Display is awesome, check the specs for technical details, but from using it, it is perfect, detailed display and excellent brightness. Battery lasts for about 4/5 hours when I have it running at high performance levels (i.e.
Pros: 10 Key Number Pad, Bright display, Fast, Great touch screen, Quality Display, Quiet
Summary: Bought this for my daughter heading off to college. Came in good condition and was easy to start using right out of the box. We had read the other reviews concerning the WI-FI driver and noted the same problem as well. She was able to follow the instructions from the other reviews to change the driver and now has no issues. I would have given 5 stars except for that issue.
Summary: I was shocked at how slow the computer was for the first week that i used it. Programs would constantly hang as the computer tried to catch up. Startup (including automatically starting Outlook) took over 90 seconds. Opening a metro app (like mail or weather) took about 7 seconds. That is not what i was expecting w/ a quad core i7 and 8 GB of memory. The hard drive was obviously the culprit so i replaced it w/ a Crucial SSD (256GB). It's night and day.
Summary: Like other reviewers, I have experienced WiFi drops, but not as frequently. I have also noticed the fan kicks on at a high rpm and makes considerable noise and the machine gets pretty hot. My main issue with the product is that Catalyst Command Center does not work properly with OpenGL out of the box.
Summary: Pros: Nice design, solid feeling keyboard, touchscreen, good specs Cons: WiFi Drop-outs, Auto back-lit Keyboard, Heating/Fan Issue (on first laptop), minor smudging, no SSD May 14th 2013 Received this laptop today and almost immediately noticed it had a fan and heating issue. Alot of heat keeps being produced at minimal cpu usage (only surfing the internet) so the fan, located right underneath the screen by the hinge, keeps kicking into an abnormally high rpm to cool...
