Great quality, Great Buy

Summary: I'm tier 3 infrastructure support in IT (20yrs) and NOT a gamer so I do not see the need to "overbuy" your PC. More may be better but it sure isn't needed. IMHO this I3 laptop is the best deal going right now at New Egg for $549. I paid $599 for when I purchased in late Jan which was a great deal then.
Pros: Lightweight, backlit keyboard, alum lid, RJ45 connector, touchscreen, HDMI port, long battery life (my experience 6hrs) and Bluetooth. Great price for a general use laptop.
In general a very good device. THe problem is with the extremely problematic operating system .

Summary: The hardware is almost excellent given the price . The serious problem is the operating system. The windows 8 operating system is very problematic, to say the least. The user interface, user experience and all the work flow with Windows 8 operating system is, at bottom line, a very uncomfortable experience. It is even incomprehensible how could such an ill designed system be finally imposed on the final consumer.
Summary: Ok, so I lost my previous laptop which was an HP pavilion dv4 through overheating problems as a result of excessive gaming at University after my exams were over. I have a lot more years to complete hence I really needed a new PC. I needed one that was better than my previous. One that could support the same games and better, that could operate faster, looks better, more portable, lasted longer on battery and most importantly, PREVENT me from missing my old PC.
Summary: I think that this device is a great machine if you're on the go for work or play. It gives much of the loved features that one can expect of an ultrabook and it is for my experience a very fast and reliable machine, from working multiple tasks to working with graphics intensive applications and software, startup to shutdown, it's a great device. Memory management is good! I would do recommend this ultrabook as I think for the price it sure packs a lot.
Summary: Fast and nicely built laptop although heavier than other ultrabooks. It has a nice backlit keyboard. Fingerprints are noticeable on the cover but that's unavoidable. They are selling this exact model at bestbuy for 899 but I got mine for 599. So it's a steal in both regards.
