Summary: Computer is a nice weight/style, I don't Love Windows 8 but that has nothing to do with this computer. The biggest issue is sometimes I get a reboot error coming out of sleep. I've only had this thing a little over 3 months and this problem started within 6 weeks of having the computer. If I leave the clamshell open over night, the computer will go to sleep. When I try to wake it up, I get some sort of reboot error and I have to do a forced restart.
Summary: I'm tier 3 infrastructure support in IT (20yrs) and NOT a gamer so I do not see the need to "overbuy" your PC. More may be better but it sure isn't needed. IMHO this I3 laptop is the best deal going right now at New Egg for $549. I paid $599 for when I purchased in late Jan which was a great deal then.
Pros: Lightweight, backlit keyboard, alum lid, RJ45 connector, touchscreen, HDMI port, long battery life (my experience 6hrs) and Bluetooth. Great price for a general use laptop.
In general a very good device. THe problem is with the extremely problematic operating system .

Summary: The hardware is almost excellent given the price . The serious problem is the operating system. The windows 8 operating system is very problematic, to say the least. The user interface, user experience and all the work flow with Windows 8 operating system is, at bottom line, a very uncomfortable experience. It is even incomprehensible how could such an ill designed system be finally imposed on the final consumer.
Summary: I purchased this laptop as an "administrative" laptop for use in my small business. About three weeks after I bought it the touch pad stopped working. I initially uninstalled the driver in hopes that the system would detect it again, but unfortunately that did not work. After attempting to perform several other fixes, I finally managed to get the touch pad to work again after about a week.
Excerpt: Very good ultrabook with features needed to perform various tasks. The sound is great and also the display is not disappointing at all. I needed an notebook with HDMI out which serves my purpose now. Lightweight and portability is good.
Pros: Built-In Speakers, Durable, Lightweight, Realistic color
Summary: But I just can't. The reason... it is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow. I can't believe it. It takes so long to open web pages (especially ones running flash.) It freezes up if I leave, say, 3 or 4 tabs open while online. I walk away for a while, come back... I can't go right back to where I was, because it takes forever to come alive. The page is open, but it's like, it can't focus or something.
Summary: I have so far enjoyed this laptop. Easy to set up, great looking and easy to use. I too have had to make an adjustment to windows 8, but it comes with a free upgrade to 8.1 which makes it tolerable. I have not had the problems with the keyboard and touchpad that others have. Actually, I rather like the keyboard, its very smooth and comfortable. Each laptop takes a little adjusting too with their touchpad and this one is no different.
