Summary: There was no recovery software or even a copy of windows 8 in the box. Samsung was useless other than to tell me to send the laptop back to them and they will take a look at it in 14-21 days... I haven't even owned it that long.
Summary: I am extremely unhappy with this purchase. I have to wait 15-20 minutes every time the computer wakes up or gets turned on before the wireless internet decides to work. Then it will cut out at any given time which you will have to wait until the computer decides to start receiving from the internet again. I would strongly suggest getting a different laptop because this will give you more headaches than you have Tylenol.
Summary: Spend your money better. This item tries to to be an APP driven device. So it ends up doing anything really really slow. Even just internet is a pack a lunch ordeal. I highly resent the fact that I purchased an item that comes already burdened with advertisements. I would only recommend this item to people I dislike a lot.
Summary: Don't buy this laptop, it's slow, freezes up on you, and the windows 8 system is not all that great. The apps for the windows 8 seems like a great concept but it doesn't work 3/4 of the times and the internet connection keeps cutting out
Summary: Out of the box it comes with so much "bloat" that it's a challenge to weed through to the worthwhile pieces of software. The product is nice, hardware is more than decent, but for some reason, it hangs up from time to time. I haven't added any additional software yet, and I'm on 100Mbps fiber for Internet. Just sometimes when watching online videos or surfing the net it slows. It's not an extreme problem but it can be frustrating.
Summary: This is my first Samsung product. Samsung seems to have a good reputation for TV's and cell phones and other electronics. So I bit on this one. Fortunately paid only $249.00 new. Replaced my Toshiba Vista laptop. Well, Windows 8 is awful. But that has nothing to do with this laptop (I think). This laptop is a bottom budget laptop and it really shows. All of the components are minimal or marginal. It is a laptop. That's it.
Too slow for video, too slow for Youtube, barely fast enough for email

Summary: This is a bad laptop. It has a big screen and a cheap price, but it's too slow to do ANYTHING with. The AMD E2-1800 is NOT a laptop processor - it's an older generation and intended for tablets - simply put - it can't handle windows. It can't handle 720p videos, and it can't even handle Youtube. Even after a fresh format, it's sluggish opening web browsers - it's barely adequate for internet and email, and can't handle basic things you'd use a laptop for.
Summary: My first day working on the NP355E5C and it's not as slow as I feared it would be. It has a low end AMD processor so I was worried it would be annoyingly slow to use. So far I've installed Windows updates and ClassicShell to make Windows 8 usable and performance has been ok. The 5400rpm 500GB Hitachi hard drive with 8MB cache is a pretty standard part for inexpensive laptops and it's kinda slow.
