99 from Best Buy as an open box and clearance for 173
17 February 2015
Summary: I bought this originally priced at 329.99 from Best Buy as an open box and clearance for 173.99 in April 2013. Best money I ever spent on a computer. It is fast, gets great wifi signal, has bluetooth, built in webcam and and very good touchpad. I need to buy another laptop for my husband and can't find anything this good for a decent price. Samsung apparently doesn't make anything under $1000 now.
Summary: This is a great computer for a more advanced user. It comes with very little bloatware, and I took windows 8 off and put windows 7 enterprise on it. This machine works flawlessly. The BIOS is very customizable, and the system itself easily supports multiple layers of encryption. It also supports booting from microSD easily. I am able to run 4 different operating systems on this machine ATM: Windows 7 Enterprise, Ubuntu 14.04, Debian, and Android(testing purposes).
Summary: This is the worst laptop I've ever had it never wants to load usually freezes during start up as soon as I enter my password. When it actually does load it is so slow I have never seen a computer load so slow my desk top I had before this was 10 years old and worked better than this laptop.very disappointed samsung
Summary: Almost a year and it is freezing up all of the time. It seems to be fairly warm air on the sides. I bought a laptop cooler pad and it helps, but after half an hour or so it still skips/ stutters, freezes, and now occasionally crashes completely. The fan spins very slowly when hot instead of speeding up. I went to Samsung's website for a new BIOS as there were no fan options in the BIOS that I could find.
Summary: Windows 8 is the worst thing to ever happen to this machine. It is brand new, my personal computer and I use my work PC because Windows 8 is that bad. It's like I bought a giant phone with unmovable ads built in. I will have to install Linux or an older version of windows... then maybe I'll use the damn thing.
