Summary: I have had a Panasonic Tough Book CF-74 for 5 years - it has been run over, rained on, dropped several times, the screen has fallen out onto the car seat while I was driving, My wife thinks it’s ugly and has pitched it, mistaking it for junk that failed to make into the garbage, The mother board is now exposed, I have JB weld holding the screen/monitor together, It is aggravating, two keys that want to stick because of the dried peanut butter under them, many keys are...
Perhaps the worst customer service in Industry--but a very tough computer!

Summary: PROS: The computer is really tough...but if it breaks, forget it. I bought three supplemental warranties, and they still refused coverage. Touchscreen is good on the road. CONS: Panasonic Customer Service is non-existent. I spent many hours "on hold" and haggling, and waited nearly a month before Panasonic finally warrantied service on my toughbook.
Summary: I have dropped this thing on the back deck more times than I can recall...managed to crack one part of the outside casing...but NO DAMAGE to the workings AT ALL. We have taken it everywhere, from the mountains to the beach, across several states, in the car, with no protective sleeve or anything lke that. I have a 2-yr old and one on the way, so I take this with me wherever the kid leads, to keep up on stupid things like social networking, email, and Internet shopping.
