Summary: The positives: 1) Found the build very sturdy, and true to it's nature. 2) The screen does well when used in a car, from say a Jottodesk or Ram mount, even in direct sunlight. The matte finish and brightness will still allow you to read text in otherwise difficult situations.
Summary: We have 85 of the CF-52 Toughbooks in the hands of field service technicians. On the whole, we have had good success with them. It is a great machine for in-the-truck and on-the-job duties. This is a computer version of a work truck.
Pros: Semi-rugged with port covers for all of the ports. Includes and optical drive and has 4 USB. The keyboard is a regular laptop keyboard and not one of the "Chiclet" keyboards that have become popular. The unit is very durable and rugged with a handle.
Cons: The unit is rather heavy. The port covers, if they break, are not easily replaced.
Summary: This is the 3rd Toughbook we've purchased from this company & all are still going strong. They were replacements for our first ones that we started with in 2007 that we purchased elsewhere for a bit more money. They've worked well for us, using them 24/7 in patrol cars.
