Summary: i've had this netbook for just over 1 year and have been quite happy with it. The best thing is that I haven't even had to upgrade to a 2gb memory stick! So if it ever feels sluggish I'll make that move.
Summary: I've had a MSI Wind U123 with a 9-cell battery for about a year now. I UPGRADED THE RAM to 2GB. Voided my warranty, oh well. I Installed windows 7 professional. Here is my experiences: It's very light and I just throw it in my backpack like a book. Everyone comments that its so small and cute. I tell them it has up to 6~8 hours of battery life. (They are amazed.) I surf the web, I can do work on it if I need to. (Even such as heavy programs like MATLAB, Photoshop, etc.
Summary: I do like this little laptop. Delivery was FAST. Only issues are: The battery seems to disconnect easily, when you grab it from the case or bump it in a certain way, and the case it came with is almost too small.
Summary: Pretty good little comp for it's price. Good battery life, nice screen, comfortable keyboard, decent processor and RAM, good wireless card and all of that. The IONLY thing I would mention is that it does NOT come with bluetooth capabilities. i thought that for sure, if this is a step up from the U100, that it should have bluetooth, but alas! Logic failed me! Enjoy your wind.
Summary: i love this laptop. it is the perfect size for me to carry anywhere i want and the battery life allows me to do so. when i purchased the laptop i also purchased a 2gb stick of ram, so i cannot tell you what "stock" performance is like. it does take a little getting used to; the keys are a little smaller and the "ctrl" and "Fn" keys are switched, not a big deal unless you, "Ctrl+c/x/v/t..
Summary: I purchased this MSI Wind U123 Laptop for my daughter in Virginia. She needed something small, stylish, and convienent. So far, so good! She says that it's lightweight, she can carry in in her larger purses, and since it came with it's own protective case, she doesn't worry about anything spilling on it or soiling it in her purse. She told me that the speed was good, and that having the wi-fi connection is great, since many "Hotspots" are availiable in her area.
Summary: I had a three hundred dollar budget so I spent a lot of time researching what would give me the most bang for my buck. I found a refurb 15" laptop that was about $400 but it came with Vista which was a dealbreaker for me. I finally decided on this netbook and I know I made a fabulous choice.
Summary: I've had an MSI Wind for several months and have had no trouble with it. Any queries I had to the MSI support people were promptly and satisfactorily answered. Overall it does a great job, is easy to type with despite its size, has excellent battery life. I travel quite a bit and having a small, light computer is a lifesaver. Several of my friends have bought Winds once they saw mine in operation.
Summary: The MSi Wind Netbook U123-003 is one of the better MSi design model, and the quality has improved over the U100 model. Hardware annoyances: jumpy touchpad/mouse, MIC does not work (..no rsolution on that), etc. Overall though, it is a good versitale Netbook for basic use. I don't believe a Netbook, of any brand, is a good value as compared to a small form-factor Notebook. As good as the MSi Wind U123 is, I cerrtianly would not buy another Netbook of any brand.
