Summary: I had this laptop for two years and I loved it, but the charging port when bad. Started smoking and sparking and could have caught my house on fire if I didn't notice it. No warranty, costs a lot to get it fixed, and I feel ripped off. $1,700.00 down the drain. Thanks MSI.
Pros: Fast, big, handles everything you throw at it.
Cons: Lasted just outside the warranty, expensive to repair.
Summary: So I have now owned this laptop for about 3 years. I have had to RMA this laptop in 5 times. 1 of the times they did not fix anything. The last time was 6 months ago and I have yet to send it in because the computer will probably keep breaking and costing me money.
Pros: High memory, raid HHD, large video card. Worked awesome for the first 6 months.
Cons: Flimsy case construction, garbage power supply.
Summary: Really wish i could order a 2nd battery. Don't need one yet but the worry of my battery failing is always there.
Pros: Powerful laptop with really high specs. I mainly use this laptop for gaming and 3d rendering projects at college at man does it get the job done. Lightwave makes rendering easy and quick and games look beautiful run smooth.
Cons: not many. When i first had the laptop i had a few issues of a constant bluescreen on boot. Later to find out it was software conflicting issues and not the laptop itself so cant really blame it.
Summary: If anyone knows of a solution to the problem above, feel free to contact me and let me know. I can't play games anymore (battery power reduces CPU and GPU clock) and I can't evne charge it while it's turned on because it will reset.
Pros: Great graphical performance in games. Decent speakers.
Cons: The biggest con: This laptop has the tendency to die on you. When I bought it, it immediately became my favorite possession and I took utmost care of it, cleaning it regularly. However, about a month ago it would start turning itself off suddenly without warning in the middle of gaming. I looked ...
Summary: The back-lit keyboard is nice, but I got this b/c it's supposed to be a big powerful laptop. It shouldn't be crapping out so soon.
Pros: Great computer when it works. But my fiance's started dying after about 6 months and mine is in the first death throws. We take it to places that are supposed to be able to fix laptops and they don't thing anything wrong.
Cons: The first sign of trouble is that the speaker stop working. Then they get really, really slow. Then the freeze a lot. Can't connect to the internet, and crash over and over and over. The eject button has NEVER worked. We take it in to get it looked at and of course then it works fine. I bought th...
Pros: Quiet keyboard, runs most game very nicely! I use it for World of Warcraft, runs max settings by default very well. Good resolution, neat keyboard lighting with decent sound for a laptop.
Cons: No indicator when caps lock or num lock is on. It over heats, the cores run pretty hot even idle. While I'm playing games the cores get as hot as 95 degrees celcius. I'm sending my laptop back to the manufacturer for repairs. Be careful of this, keep a temp gauge running!
Cons: The screen has died 3 times now. It dies after full and complete shutdowns. 2 of these times I have been deployed overseas. I have had to spend over 300$ on a computer that cost almost 2k to begin with. MSI customer service will jerk you around till your warranty ends sending the same broken lapt...
Summary: I spent $1,700 on this laptop about a year ago. It mostly sat on my shelf for the first 6 months until Diablo III came out. I'll be generous and say I logged between 48-72 hours on the machine before one night I put it to sleep.
Pros: I imagine if you had one that worked you'd be pleased with most of it
Pros: It's great, when it works. Fast, powerful, huge screen.
Cons: I've had this laptop for almost a year and this is the 3rd time I'm going to have to RMA it. The first time was for a hard drive failure, the second because the lid casing cracked, and now again for another hard drive failure. Is their some type of lemon law? 3 strikes and I get a full refund?
