Summary: MSI does a few strange things to this laptop that will take some getting used to or tweaking to make it what you want. First off, instead of using 3 4gb RAM sticks so you only need one more to max out the RAM for Windows Home Premium they decided to put in an 8gb and a 4 gb RAM stick. That is really strange. Now in order to to fill all of the RAM slots I have to buy four instead of just the one I was hoping.
Summary: Everything with the computer went well for about 6 months, but the computer didn't came with windows cd key, So if you'll ever need to register your product at Microsoft's website, well, you can forget about it. I had a problem with my computer and when i called them to send me recovery disk, because they didnt gave me windows CD key they charged me for 30 dollars, I know i wont buy MSi products again due to their lake of support
Summary: Nice system. Plays games well and handles any office task with ease. I did have to send mine in when the screen developed a fault after a few weeks. Probably a bad connector. When I got it back the webcam appears to be unplugged and no longer works. Not something I really use and I do not want to be without my machine for another 2 weeks so I can do without it. Still it would have been better to not have to send it in for repair.
Summary: Would have loved to have windows 7 on this instead of windows 8. Windows 8 should only be installed on touch screen devices nothing else. Even then I'd highly doubt the functionality of it. Besides windows 8, there are a few drivers that are very difficult to install on this machine. MSI has not very good support ( or should I say non-existant )and you will have a hell of a time trying to install the drivers properly if you ever need to.
Pros: Fast, powerful, everything you need for a gaming laptop
Cons: I like the laptop dont get me wrong, but I dont like the survice newegg provided. The laptop came in with a fan that's defective and makes a hella of dadada noise. I called newegg custom support the next day I got it. All i asked is for them to fix the fan and it took them 2 weeks to do nothing and another week to send it back. Guess what? The fan is still defective. I enjoy the performance of this machine but its annoying as hell.
Poor external materials and build quality mar what could have been a terrific purchase

Summary: I bought this computer expecting something that would last me several years of regular use. I'm not really much of a gamer, but I work in data security & I need a computer with a bit of horsepower and a stout graphics card /w CUDA. This computer fit the bill admirably -- it easily handles everything I throw at it. It works as perfectly today, over six months since my purchase, as it did the day I bought it.
Summary: I installed windows 7 on this notebook. Everything worked fine , except the Nvidia driver. One module crashed , producing a BSOD. In windows 8, with a specific driver, it worked fine. Could be caused by 2 things: A failure in driver manually corrected by MSI A hardware incompatibility with windows 7. Seems that the first one is the most probable. I needed windows 7, now I will be forced to use this piece of junk that is windows 8.
Summary: Don't get all fooled by all the publicity around the Killer Network cards. They are in two words, cow poop. I am not really sure if it's a problem specific to Windows 8, but I have been experiencing a myriad problems while playing online games through the Ethernet port. Once I switch to WiFi, it's all good.
