MSI GT683 R Gaming Laptop Review

  • Summary: After testing MSI's GT780 gaming notebook I must admit I was pretty impressed by it's allround and gaming performance. Of course, a high end gaming notebook also carries a pretty beefy price tag. big screen , decent powerful GPU and CPU, 8Gb of ram, dual harddrives. Well the price tag for the included components was fair, but what happens if you want a gaming notebook and don't have 1500 euros to cash out?

MSI GT683R-242US With GeForce GTX 560M Review

HotHardware

  • Excerpt: We saw a lot of new and improved products at Computex this year, including NVIDIA's new (and powerful) GeForce GTX 560M mobile GPU. Needless to say, we were excited to get our hands on one of the first notebooks to ship with this new mobile GPU to see what it could do. Although we expect notebooks from a variety of manufactures to offer this GPU, MSI is among the first of them to ship a notebook with the GeForce GTX 560M at its core.
  • Pros: GeForce GTX 560M, Core i7-2360QM processor, Dual hard drives in Raid 0
  • Cons: Relatively short battery life, Some bloatware

  • Conclusion: If you’re looking for the absolute fastest 15-inch gaming rig around, the Eurocom Racer we tested is still your best bet, but it’ll cost you a bit more ($1,634, in our test configuration), and it's not much to look at, style-wise. However, if you want it all—looks, power, and game-worthy sound—then the MSI GT683R is for you.
  • Pros: Strong gaming, application performance, Attractive display, Robust audio, Good battery life for size class
  • Cons: Heavy, No Blu-ray drive, Turbo mode not very effective

  • Pros: 3D-Leistung, Anwendungsleistung, sehr gutes Soundsystem, Austattung, SSD-Festplatte, gutes Display
  • Cons: Throttling, Displayhelligkeit, hohe Lautstärke unter Last, Temperaturemissionen
